Halo Infinite Leaks Massive File Size | Game Rant

Halo Infinite is easily one of the most highly-anticipated Xbox games on the horizon. Originally meant to be an Xbox Series X launch title, Microsoft delayed Halo Infinite's release date to fall 2021, and while a specific date still has yet to be revealed, the running theory is that the game will launch at some point in November. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but in the meantime, some interesting new information on it has potentially leaked online.

As spotted by Pure Xbox, an image is making the rounds online that appears to show Halo Infinite's listing on the Xbox Store. The About section says it's published by Xbox Game Studios, it's rated PEGI 16 (basically the European equivalent of the ESRB), it's a shooter, and that it's developed by 343 Industries. No release date is noted in the listing, unfortunately, but it does say that the game will require about 97.24 GB of free space, which is quite a lot.

The image is unverified, so fans should take it with a grain of salt. Halo Infinite does not have an officially announced PEGI rating, which makes the image suspect, but it otherwise looks legitimate. And while 97.24 GB may seem excessive to some, that's not unheard of when it comes to modern games, and it's definitely something fans should prepare themselves for come Halo Infinite launch, whenever that may be.

The Halo Infinite release date has not been announced yet, but if the information in this leaked image is accurate, one has to imagine that a release date announcement will come sooner rather than later. Historically, when entities like PEGI and ESRB rate games, it means that their release date is right around the corner. And while most of the Halo Infinite release date rumors point to November as the most likely launch date for the game, perhaps it will come a little sooner than that. Until Microsoft decides to provide some official information, all fans do is speculate.

Luckily, official information on Halo Infinite's release date could come as early as later this month. Microsoft has confirmed that it is hosting a special Xbox Gamescom showcase on August 24, and it stands to reason that Halo Infinite could very well be one of the games featured at the event.

If a Halo Infinite release date isn't announced at Gamescom, it will be interesting to see what exactly Microsoft has in store for the game at the show. It's possible fans will finally get another look at Halo Infinite's campaign, as recent coverage has focused on multiplayer, or maybe the event will include information on a potential open beta. Whatever the case may be, fans will need to tune in to the Xbox Gamescom showcase on August 24 at 10am PT to find out more.
