One of the best levels in Psychonauts 2 is the Brain in a Jar world that resembles an 80s acid trip. Not only is it one of the best, but it's also one of the biggest worlds in the game, with every single collectible, and a ton of Figments.

As is the case with many other Psychonauts 2 levels, you can't collect everything on the first go here. You'll need both the Dark Thoughts upgrade for Mental Connection, and the Projection ability from the Cassie's Collection level.
Figments In Brain In A Jar
Unfortunately, figments are incredibly hard to keep track of in Psychonauts 2, as they’re essentially the game’s version of coins or rings, with some levels having more than 200 of them. Psychonauts 2 also won’t tell you where you’ve found items after you’ve picked them up, so Figments can be very hard to clear if you don’t know where you’re looking.
Thankfully, each level does have a figment list you can access at any time. It won’t tell you where the figments are, but it might point you to where in the world you’re missing a few collectibles based on the design. Here’s the full list for Brain in a Jar.
Emotional Baggage In Brain In A Jar
Emotional baggage are arguably the biggest collectible in Psychonauts 2. There are five different types you can find in each level, although not every level will have all of them.
You’ll be able to spot Emotional Baggage as you’ll hear them crying and Raz will often comment that there’s one nearby. To collect the baggage, you’ll also need to find the tag elsewhere in the level.
Steamer Trunk
Tag:
The Steamer Trunk tag can be found in the Taste and Smell section of the level. After using two fish to cross a lake, it'll be on the main path in front of you, and cannot be missed.
Baggage:
The Steamer Trunk Tag can be found in the Touch and Listen section of the level. Reach the top of the mountain and it'll be on the right side, just before the bridge of light.
Purse
Tag:
The Purse tag can be found in the Backstage Area. You'll see it on top of a caravan parked behind the stage.
Baggage:
The Purse can be found in the Concessions part of the level. After jumping over the first crowd and past some towers, you'll find yourself in an area with spinning stars you'll need to slow down to get across. Don't, and instead jump to the ground. The Purse can be found behind the first tower, on the floor.
Dufflebag
Tag:
The Dufflebag Tag can be found in the Concessions area. Right at the start of the area, you'll see a "Sold Out" van. Go behind it to find the Dufflebag tag.
Baggage:
The Dufflebag can be found after your first encounter with a Panic Attack during the Vision section of the level. It's after the second bridge of light. It can be found by going through a hole in the wall of speakers.
Hatbox
Tag:
The Hatbox tag can be found in the vision section of the level. After the first fight with a Panic Attack, keep making your way through the level, and you'll find yourself walking down tightropes towards some fans. Neat these fans will be a neon poster, burn it down and go through the hole to grab the Hatbox tag.
Baggage:
You can find the Hatbox in the campground section of the level. Right near the start, follow the path up and take the first left. You'll see the Hatbox in between some tents.
Suitcase
Tag:
The Suitcase tag can be found in the campgrounds section of the level. After climbing up the mountain and using Time Bubble on the first log, go around the side of the mountain instead of going up and you'll see it sat there.
Baggage:
The Suitcase can be found in the Backstage area. You'll find it by going underneath the stage, where it'll be sat on a case.
Memory Vaults In Brain In A Jar
Memory Vaults return from the first Psychonauts and once again offer extra insight into the character whose mind you’re in. Once you find a Memory Vault, you’ll need to break it open by hitting it.
Memory Vault 1
You'll find the first Memory Vault during the Vision section of the level. After crossing the first bridge of light, you'll need to platform across some fans to get to the second one. On your way there, you'll see a wooden jail, which has the Memory Vault in it. Return here once you've got the Projection ability to open it up.
Memory Vault 2
You can find the second Memory Vault in the Concessions part of the level. Right near the start of the area, you'll see another barred off area. Return here when you have the Projection ability to get to the second Memory Vault.
Half-A-Minds In Brain In A Jar
Half-A-Minds are a new collectible in Psychonauts 2. As the name suggests, they are one mind split into two, and finding two separate pieces will give you one extra brain’s worth of health.
Half-A-Mind 1
The level's first Half-A-Mind can be found in the Backstage area. Simply go underneath the stage, past the Suitcase, and burn down a poster. Keep following that path to find the Half-A-Mind.
Half-A-Mind 2
After crossing the first bridge of light during the Vision section of the level, you'll come across some censors on an island. Defeat them, and you'll see a spinning fan that you'll need to platform over. Below that fan on a wooden platform is the second Half-A-Mind. Use Time Bubble to reach it.
Half-A-Mind 3
The third Half-A-Mind can be found in the Campgrounds section of the level. Reach the top of the mountain, and then use Time Bubble on a log going down the stream to cross the gap and reach the Half-A-Mind.
Half-A-Mind 4
The final Half-A-Mind can be found in the Taste and Smell part of the level. When you reach the end, just before grabbing the instruments you'll see a light. Shine the light on the prism down below, and then go down there. Walk along the bridge of light to reach the Half-A-Mind.
Nuggets Of Wisdom In Brain In A Jar
Nuggets of Wisdom are another new collectible in Psychonauts 2. Each level has a different design for them, but you’ll be able to find them by their golden glow. Collecting one will instantly increase your rank by one point.
Nugget Of Wisdom 1
The first Nugget of Wisdom can be found in the Vision section of the level. After crossing the first bridge of light, you'll need to reach the second light to create another bridge. Just past the level's first Memory Vault, you'll see two spinning stars in the air. Slow them with Time Bubble to reach the first Nugget.
Nugget Of Wisdom 2
The second Nugget can be found in the Smell and Taste section of the level. After crossing the first bridge of light you'll come across two massive tongues blocking the way. Slow them down with Time Bubble, and then use the trampolines in front to get on top of the second tongue, where the Nugget can be found.
Nugget Of Wisdom 3
In the Touch and Listen section of the level, you'll see the Nugget of Wisdom right across from where you begin. Find the light just slightly above on the mountain to create a bridge of light and collect this Nugget.
