It was a year ago that Tetris Effect developer Enhance announced the weird looking Humanity for the PS4 during a State of Play presentation, and the game looked curious enough to grab many people’s attention. Since that initial announcement, however, there have been next to no updates on what this is going to be, or when it will be released.
It was originally due out in 2020, but 2020 is almost over, and the game is nowhere to be found. As you may have expected, that’s because it has been delayed. The developers recently took to Twitter to imply that circumstances during the year prevented the game from launching on time (as has been the case with countless other planned 2020 releases), and that it is now due out for 2021.
All that we know about Humanity is that it’s a puzzle game in which you control masses of humans and navigate them through environments, where they can crash into and even battle each other. So… yeah, we don’t know much. It will also feature PSVR support.
Humanity is in development for the PS4, but at this point, it’s likely that it will release for the PS5 as well.
2020 took an unexpected turn for Humanity. But 2021 is our year.
Happy holidays, stay safe, and we'll see you next year.
