With this generation slowly coming to a close, it’s worth looking back on the best-selling titles for the PlayStation 4. After all, Sony’s console had a number of hits this generation. The NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella recently revealed the best-selling console exclusives for the PS4 in the US life-to-date, each title being ranked by their dollar sales.
It’s perhaps unsurprising to hear that Marvel’s Spider-Man topped the list. Having sold a whopping 13.2 million units worldwide as of August 2019, Insomniac’s open-world title has been quite performer for Sony. Next up is God of War, which sold over 10 million units worldwide as of May 2019. Horizon: Zero Dawn is in third place with 10 million units sold worldwide as of February 2019.
What is a surprise, however, is that The Last of Us Part 2 is in fourth, especially since it came out just last month. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is also a noteworthy title at fifth place since it released in April this year. It’s worth noting that the rankings include both physical and digital dollar sales with software included in hardware bundles, DLC and microtransactions not included.
