Persona 5 Royal Sells 1.4 Million Units Worldwide, Persona Franchise Reaches 13 Million Worldwide

Atlus have announced that Persona 5 Royal has sold 1.4 million units worldwide, along with the entire Persona franchise selling 13 million copies worldwide.

The original Persona 5 had sold 3.2 million units worldwide as of December 2019. Director Katsura Hashino would write a message of thanks to western fans soon after its western launch, due to the game being warmly received.

Now, Atlus has announced (Translation: Google Translate) that Persona 5 Royal has sold 1.4 million units worldwide. In addition, they have announced Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers has sold 480,000 in Japan and Asia; while Persona 4 Golden has sold over 500,000 on Steam.

This has all brought the total number of Persona games shipped worldwide to 13 million units. To celebrate Persona 5 Royal is currently on sale for 28% off; albeit on the Japanese PlayStation Store. A commemorative piece of art was also produced, as seen above.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is available for Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 in Japan. The game’s localization is being planned.

Persona 4 Golden is available on Windows PC (via Steam), and PlayStation Vita.
