New Apex Legends Trailer Shows Off Seer’s Heart Seeking Abilities

As we head towards Season 10 of Apex Legends we know a lot about the new content and changes to existing content that are on the way. Every season of Respawn’s popular battle royale features tons of additions that switch up the game’s meta, which typically includes a brand new character to shoot people in the face with.

This season is no different with the reveal of Seer, a cowboy hat-wearing Recon specialist who can sense rival Legends’ heartbeats. While we already know quite a bit about his abilities, a new trailer dropped today that shows off precisely how Seer's moveset works. Judging by his skills, it looks like it’s about to get a whole lot harder for Apex players to move around stealthily.

As you can guess by his name, Seer’s abilities are all about seeing and tracking down enemies. His passive ability is Heartseeker, which allows him to see the heartbeats of other players by looking down the sights of his gun. You can see these as arrows on your sight that point toward where the heartbeats are coming from, so you’ll be able to get a general idea of where your opponents are.

His tactical ability, Focus Of Attention, involves Seer unleashing micro-drones from his Tony Stark-esque heart chamber that can reveal nearby players and their health bars. This move also prevents them from using healing items or reviving downed teammates.

As for his ultimate, it’s called Exhibit, which is likely a reference to Seer’s time as an artist as well as its use in exhibiting the locations of enemy teams. His heart chamber creates a giant dome that exposes the whereabouts of other players if they’re moving fast or firing their guns. The only way to avoid detection while in Seer’s ultimate is by destroying the heart chamber or crouch-walking your way through it. Seems like it’ll be a bad time for every other legend except for Revenant and his weird quick-crouching ways.

Overall, it seems like Seer is going to do a good job in preventing players from camping or hiding as he's all about exposing enemies at every turn. He may even wind up being a more effective tracker than Bloodhound or Crypto. Combined with the upcoming changes to the World’s Edge map and the new Rampage machine gun, Season 10 seems like it’s going to be a wild time when it launches next week on August 3rd.
