Although this week is all about Gamescom for the video game community, it won’t be long until September arrives and the focus shifts towards PAX Online and other early fall events. Although the event will clearly be very different from the average PAX convention, there will still be tons of exciting panels and celebrity appearances throughout the event to help capture the spirit if PAX and bring it to a remote audience of fans. As always, Dungeons and Dragons will be a part of the event and there will even be some celebrity players taking the stage to talk about their experience in the game.
One of the PAX Online panels, brought to the show by Manticore Games, will bring a star-studded group of Dungeons and Dragons players to the spotlight to discuss their experiences with the self-proclaimed world’s greatest roleplaying game and also explore some digital versions of iconic dungeon locations that have been created by fans in the Core platform. A design-a-dungeon contest has been running for the last month or so that allowed Core users to submit dungeons scenarios with the promise that the big winner would be revealed at PAX Online and some celebrities would have a chance to give the creation a try. Now that the event is right around the corner, players finally have a better idea of who that celebrity cast is going to be…

The list of special guests is very exciting and includes stars of Netflix TV shows, a Critical Role cast member, some famous faces from the DnD scene, and even a WWE superstar. Here’s the full list of guests for the Panel of Legends…
Deborah Ann Woll (Relics & Rarities, True Blood, Daredevil)
Jerry Holkins (Acquisitions Incorporated, Penny Arcade)
Reggie Watts (The Late, Late Show with James Cordon, Comedy Bang! Bang!)
Sam Riegel (Critical Role)
Todd Kenreck – Moderator (D&D Beyond)
WWE ® Superstar Xavier Woods ® (WWE, UpUpDownDown)
And special guests from Manticore Games
The panel takes place on September 15 at 12:30 pm PT and spans one hour. According to the official description, it will cover a variety of topics all related to the current Dungeons and Dragons experience. “D&D’s brightest stars will share tales from their personal campaigns, and for the first time explore them as interactive experiences inside Core, a new platform for creating and playing games. After playing through these epic D&D memories, the panelists will then embark on a new adventure across the winning games from Core’s Dungeons & Dragons Design-A-Dungeon Contests. All of the playable D&D content revealed during the panel, including the contest winners and celebrity-inspired dungeons, will be accessible for free on the Core platform through portals in a special D&D hub world.”
That list of celebrity guests certainly contains enough star power to bring in a nice mix of viewers from around the DnD community. The panel is likely to be a pretty popular one and it will be interesting to see that mix of players interacting on stage and talking about their experience with the game. We’re very interested to see what creations the Core community has developed and how well their DnD dungeon concepts translate to the platform in a playable environment. Once the winning creations are added to Core for free we look forward to exploring the D&D Hub World and seeing how it goes.
Core is a free platform and community for creating and playing games. Dungeons and Dragons books are available now in hardcopy at game stores or digitally through DnD Beyond.
