Persona 5 Strikers Will Have Denuvo DRM on Steam

Persona 5 Strikers

The Steam page for action-adventure game Persona 5 Strikers has launched, revealed the game will have Denuvo DRM on PC.

For those unfamiliar, Denuvo DRM has been criticized for allegations of its effectiveness. These include the need for a constant and uninterrupted online connection even on single-player games, and allegations of causing severe performance inhibition.

When it was announced that Doom Eternal would use Denvo anti-cheat software for its multiplayer, id Software soon after had to look into claims of crashes and performance issues. Denuvo was removed just one week after it was introduced. Other titles to remove Denuvo (albeit some after a year) include Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 2, Octopath Traveler, and Sonic Mania.

Users on Steam have taken issue with the Denuvo DRM [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] along with the game’s high price in some regions. The game is currently $59.99 USD, 59.99€ EUR, £54.99 GBP, $99.95 AUD, ¥7980 JPY, and 3929₽ RUB (all via SteamDB). Others have begged for Persona 5 Royal to come to Steam, or discussed the game’s graphics.

Persona 5 Strikers launches in the west on February 23rd for Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. You can find the full rundown (via Steam) below.
