Pokemon Unite Players Want Trolls To Be Banned

As Pokemon Unite players learn more about the game, the trolls do too. Pokemon Unite has recently passed one month since its launch, and it appears that some players are finding new ways to act less than sportsmanlike, either by stealing EXP, or not contributing to a match at all.

Fans are growing more and more frustrated over the trolls, as complaints are piling up over on r/PokemonUnite. Many feel that the current reporting system does not go far enough, and believe that it's time the developers roll out some bans.

Over on the subreddit, user malva8 shared a video of a troll preventing them from evolving. The troll plays as a Snorlax (who starts the match fully evolved), and follows malva8 around the map, waiting for them to get a wild Pokemon to low health before stealing the kill and taking the EXP. Right now, there is no way to report a player for this behaviour.

In a different post, user Overlord_Mittens also calls for more reporting options to be added to the game: "I'm tired of busting my ass to try and win a game just for someone to run circles around the goal instead of making the goal. Someone that avoids team fights and wanders around the map aimlessly[…]These players are fully aware of what they're doing. They should be punished."

At present, it appears that idling or leaving a match early are the only things that will get you punished. The penalty comes in the form of losing "fair play" points. Everyone starts with 100, but having it dip below 80 will ban you from ranked matches until you raise it again.

This isn't the first time players have complained that features in Pokemon Unite are enabling trolls. Previously, many shared accounts of players in the Master Cup rank trolling in ranked matches. It's believed that they are doing this because – unlike with other Cups – Master players cannot go down a rank if they lose matches. In response, fans are calling for this to be changed, so any player can fall down the ranks for poor performance.
