With less than a month to go, the news and features of the next generation consoles are starting to filter out. Today, we got quite the surprise as Sony dropped a State of Play showcase of the PS5’s UI. It was a pretty impressive video that showed a lot of new features to play around with. You can see the full thing through here. But it seems some with the eagle eyes spotted a potential hint at another feature that wasn’t shown.
The presentation showed brief tidbits of two launch titles, Destruction AllStars and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. It began with Sackboy, which was then seemingly closed out and AllStars was booted. While it was quite fast, it also made people wonder about the suspend features the PS5 will have. Specifically, it made people wonder if it would have a similar feature to the Quick Resume function that the Xbox Series X and Series S will have that allows you suspend and snap to multiple titles near-instantly. That was not shown nor commented on in the showcase, but Twitter user Tidux got a quick shot of something that points to it.
As you can see below, for a split second, the option for rest mode was shown with references to suspending your games, plural. Obviously, it’s speculation and rumor for now, and as stated in the State of Play, there may be changes from what we saw today to the final product, but this seems to be a good indication it will have some type of Quick Resume type of feature in some form.
