In Red Dead Redemption 2, players follow the adventures of the Van Der Linde Gang as they try to find their place in a newer, more civilized world. However, they’re not the only group of outlaws causing havoc in the West.

Many nefarious groups are operating in the five American regions where the game’s story takes place. Each of them has their own objectives, territories, and ways of surviving. As they all harm innocent people, none of the gangs can be considered truly honorable. Yet, certain crews are a lot more wicked than others. But which gang is the most despicable of the bunch?
13 Laramie Gang
These people are more akin to a group of thugs than an outlaw gang. Rich people who are eyeing a piece of land pay them to scare off the current owners.
Initially, the gang uses threats and intimidation to drive the landowners away, but if that doesn’t work, they become more deadly. They’re clearly not a nice crew, yet they resemble saints compared to the more heartless gangs in the game.
12 Watson Boys
Mama Watson and her four sons reside in the Big Valley region of West Elizabeth. Collectively they’re named the Watson Boys, yet because of their minor role in RDR2, little else is known about them.
The leader, Mama Watson, sends the protagonists on some dishonorable missions in Red Dead Online, so it’s clear they’re a criminal group. But, releasing outlaws from jail wagons and assassinating people is tame compared to some other groups.
11 Van Der Linde Gang
The protagonist group led by Dutch Van Der Linde is difficult to judge. They rob and kill regularly, but they also sometimes aid people who are in need. For instance, when they assisted the rebels of Guarma against Colonel Fussar’s cruel regime.
Although, once Dutch becomes more mentally unstable and Micah Bell’s influence in the gang grows, the number of good deeds they do decreases. And over time, the most kind-hearted people among them start to leave.
10 Angelo Bronte/Guido Martelli’s Mob
This Mob isn’t exactly an “outlaw gang” as they actually have ties with Law enforcement. Yet, they conduct as many illegal activities as anyone. The police just ignore the organization’s crimes.

Plus, the work the Mob does is very different from conventional outlaw gangs. They make their money mostly from smuggling and racketeering, instead of sticking up stagecoaches. And they don’t kill as often. The organization is still evil though they’re just more subtle about it than others.
9 Foreman Brothers
The Foreman Brothers are another gang whose exploits aren’t widely known. Although, one of them did something to Tilly Jackson that made the mild-mannered woman resort to murder. And in response, the rest of the gang capture and beat her.
Kidnapping is not unusual for the gang as the leader, Anthony Foreman, asks the protagonist to abduct someone during Red Dead Online. He also offers thieving and killing jobs to the player.
8 Anderson Boys
Newspapers in RDR2 reveal more about The Anderson Boys than the missions do. They’re a crew who make money by kidnapping and then ransoming people around Lemoyne.
If that wasn’t bad enough, they don’t always give back their abductees in the best state. Sometimes they maim their victims for life before returning them and receiving the ransom. Thankfully, when the Anderson Boys appear in the story, Arthur gives their leader a beating.
7 Del Lobo Gang
In the epilogue, the Del Lobos take advantage of the minimal Law enforcement around New Austin to cause all sorts of carnage. They raid towns, rob trains, and are generally a constant menace in the region.
While their specialty is thieving, they’re not above executing anyone who gets in their way. Their willingness to use lethal force is evident if John Marston travels down to their domain as they always attack him. The only admirable trait the group has is their loyalty to each other, as evidenced when a bunch of them risk their lives to break fellow member, Ramón Cortez, out of jail.
6 Lemoyne Raiders
Plenty of the Lemoyne Raiders’ are former Confederate soldiers. And their military experience comes in handy for setting up clever ambushes for their adversaries. Many of whom are Northerners, who they kill on sight because of their hatred of the North.
The group also attack anyone who enters their patch as they’re very territorial. They’re not just murderers, though, they also provide paid protection for bounty targets and trade goods with the Braithwaite family.
5 O’Driscoll Boys
These boys are the long-standing rivals of The Van Der Linde Gang. Both groups are similar in what they do, however the O’Driscolls are far crueler. Their leader, Colm, has no loyalty to any of his underlings as he sees them all as expendable.

Yet, he treats deserters very harshly, that’s clear when the group decapitates former member, Kieran Duffy. The violence isn’t just saved for old allies; the gang slaughters anyone who interferes in their business, regardless of age or gender.
4 Micah’s Gang
After the Van Der Linde Gang falls, Micah starts his own group named after himself. With a cruel leader like Bell, it’s no surprise that the crew is an evil bunch, who murder and rob indiscriminately.
The unsavory leader even attempts to kill a little girl at one point, before fellow gang member Cleet stops him. Cleet then becomes a target of the gang, all because he saves a child’s life. If the gang was around for longer, who knows what atrocities they would’ve committed.
3 Night Folk
Hanging around the Bayou in Lemoyne is the terrifying Night Folk. As their name suggests, these savages usually come out at night to rob any passersby before mercilessly slaughtering them. Then they string up their victims’ corpses on trees nearby.
It’s unclear who is in the gang or why they’re all so gruesome as they don’t exchange pleasantries with anyone. But whoever they are, they don’t have an ounce of humanity between them.
2 Murfree Brood
Like the Night Folk, the Murfree Brood also resembles savages more than a conventional outlaw gang. Murfrees are even more depraved, though, as along with killing people, they also torture them. Plus, they capture women to keep in cages and assault at their leisure.
Their victims mainly come from people who enter their area as they’re a territorial bunch. And the group is so deranged that even the Government is hesitant to visit their domain.
1 Skinner Brothers
Most of the gangs in the game murder for financial gain, yet the Skinner Brothers seem to do it for fun. The beasts move from place to place and brutalize every person they can find, then use their body parts as decorations.
Victims don’t even receive quick deaths. The gang sadistically tortures them in various ways before they die, such as dragging them around using a wagon or roasting them on top of a fire. Every one of them seems to get a sick pleasure from hurting people. They truly are monsters.
