As with many other social media platforms, Tiktok is all about trends. The latest seems to have hit the gaming side of Tiktok as well, featuring videos of Minecraft, Mario, and even Red Dead Redemption 2.
Tiktok users may have seen the latest trend in many ways. It involves users seeing another video go viral with a ton of views after they dance to The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay.” The originals videos involve a drone circling the dance to create a dramatic effect, perfectly fitting the song. And now, Red Dead Redemption 2's Arthur Morgan has joined that trend.

Uploaded by user rdr.gta.827, the Red Dead Redemption 2 version of this trend sees Arthur watching another video, being wowed by the videos, and grabbing several items from camp to create his own video. He then dances the aforementioned song, but due to the technical limitations of the game, the drone-circling effect is not present. Nonetheless, it’s a clear nod toward this Tiktok trend and quite hilarious to see the typically serious Arthur Morgan dancing in such a manner.
One other deviation from the standard Tiktok video here is that, hilariously, Arthur Morgan falls at the end of it. The song is then interrupted with a loud yell as Arthur Morgan presumably tumbles to his death. Of course, more and more of this is likely to continue in the coming months and years, basically as long as Tiktok remains popular. This popularity among gamers is notable in and of itself, as this is far from the first time a video game, including Red Dead Redemption 2, has played some role with Tiktok.
For example, for this beloved Rockstar title specifically, a recent Tiktok video went viral for showcasing activities players couldn’t do in Red Dead Redemption 2. Some of these appeared in the first game, and it had many asking why they were cut for the prequel. No answer from Rockstar has ever come, but as with all things on Tiktok, it was done with a bit of fun.
Another recent example includes the line many drew from one Tiktok star to Seer for Apex Legends season 10. Many have pointed out that the overall vibe and character of Seer matches that of William Knight, who became famous for his wardrobe, unblinking stare, and phrase, “there’s no such thing as coincidence.” While Seer does not utter such a phrase, it’s easy to see the comparisons. At the end of the day, the relationship between gaming and Tiktok is going nowhere anytime soon, and that just bodes well for both.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
