The Tomb Raider series has been going on for many years, and one of its best entries is Rise of the Tomb Raider. The game includes fun combat, interesting puzzles, a compelling story, and plenty of PlayStation trophies for completionists to earn.

Many of Rise of the Tomb Raider's trophies can be earned during the single-player campaign, whether during the missions or while exploring the open world. Some of them can be tricky to achieve, so hopefully, this guide for all of the story mode trophies makes getting them a little easier.
Unmissable Story Progression Trophies
The following is a list of trophies that you acquire naturally just by playing through the story (and one for a specific difficulty):
- Following In Father's Footsteps (Enter The Syrian Tomb)
- Quite A Tumble (Survive the avalanche)
- Tougher Than She Looks (Survive a night in the Siberian wilderness)
- Strange Acquaintance (Rescue Jacob from the gulag)
- Taking the High Road (Light the signal fire in the Remnant Valley)
- A Helping Hand (Defend Remnant home from the Looter Invasion)
- The Key To It All (Recover the Atlas)
- Whatever It Takes (Rescue Jonah from Konstantin)
- The Road Less Travelled (Unlock the path to Kitezh)
- The Price of Truth (Finish the game on any difficulty)
- Ultimate Survivor (Finish the game on Survivor difficulty) – On survivor difficulty, you don't have things like aim assist and regenerating health, plus enemies are a lot tougher. However, it's not too tricky if you carefully manage your resources and remain patient during gunplay.

Combat Trophies
These are the trophies that relate to combat, most of them ask you to kill enemies in certain ways or with particular weapons.
- Firestarter (Defeat 2 enemies or more using a single Molotov Cocktail) – Right after the game tells you about Molotov Cocktails for the first time, they'll be two targets in perfect position for you to get this trophy. If you miss that throw, there will still be plenty more opportunities in the game to light two people on fire.
- Bar Brawl (Melee kill an enemy using a bottle) – There are plenty of bottles to pick up in the game, and for this trophy, you need to use one of them to stealthily kill somebody. To do so, you first need to acquire the Deadly Force skill from the Brawler tree. With this ability, just creep up to a guy with a bottle in hand and hit the stealth takedown prompt.
- Rapid Recovery (Heal yourself in combat 3 times) – You heal yourself in the game by using medkits, which you can easily craft. With a medkit in your inventory, hold down (L1) to heal yourself, and repeat this process two more times to nab this trophy.
- Renegade (Melee 5 enemies off a ledge) – If you hit someone with your axe (Triangle) near the edge of a cliff during the game, they will fall to their doom. If you knock people off of ledges five times throughout the campaign you get this trophy. It can be achieved in many places, but one of the best is at the Copper Mill.
- Fearless (Defeat a Deathless Swordsman using only melee attacks and a finisher) – Deathless Swordsman are a strong type of enemy that appears late into the game – they make their debut in Path Of The Deathless. To kill one of them using only melee attacks, you'll need the Dodge Kill Mastery skill, which first requires Dodge Counter and Dodge Kill, all of which are in the Brawler tree. When you have the relevant abilities, you need to dodge a Deathless Swordsman attack with (Circle) and then press (Triangle) when the ring on the counter meter is right in the middle.
- Fall Guys (Kill 10 enemies by shooting them in the leg) – Not much explanation is needed for this trophy as you just need to aim for the enemies' legs. With most weapons, it'll take multiple shots on a leg to kill someone. But it is possible to get one-hit kills with the more powerful firearms like the shotgun.
- One-Sided Conversation (Stealth kill an enemy while they are having a conversation) – It's very easy to get this one, as you just need to perform a stealth takedown on someone who's in the middle of a conversation. Your victim can be talking in person or through a walkie-talkie at the time of your attack.
- Glub Glub Glub (Drown 3 enemies using a water finisher) – Some enemies in Rise of the Tomb Raider stand right next to bodies of water, and if you're swimming in there, you can press (Triangle) to drag them in and kill them. A good place to perform this water finisher is at the start of the Approaching Storm section. After getting the first kill, reload the checkpoint twice to deliver two more finishers and earn the trophy.
- Blade of Justice (Perform 25 special stealth kills with the knife) – After you've picked up the knife and acquired the Deadly Force skill, you can sneak up behind enemies and press (Triangle) to stab them in the neck. Getting 25 of these types of kills isn't too difficult if you're making an asserted effort to do so.
- Was That Really Necessary? (Kill any animal with an explosive) – This trophy is easy to achieve once you've acquired the explosive arrows as you can simply shoot a defenseless animal with one — however, the act probably won't make you feel like a morally good person.
- Laying Down the Law (Kill 6 enemies with the Revolver without reloading) – A headshot on a regular enemy with the Revolver is an instant kill in the game. So to get this trophy, enter an encounter with at least six people and aim for their skulls. As the Revolver can hold seven shots, you can miss one but resist the temptation to reload between bullets.
- English Pedigree (Headshot an enemy with an arrow from a distance beyond 25m) – To headshot an enemy from range, you either need to have good aim or be willing to try plenty of times. It's hard to measure 25m in-game, but if you're aiming at someone and your reticle is red, then you're probably too close. There are several moments in the game where enemies will be the required distance away.
- Chemical Warfare (Kill 5 enemies with one Poison Arrow) – Enemies don't often stand in groups during the game, so chances to hit five of them with a poison arrow are sparse. One good opportunity arrives on the way to Acropolis. After the cutscene where a helicopter flies overhead and some prisoners are executed, get the attention of the troops there, run back to the tent area, and get in cover. Your future victims will run or walk through the archway towards you. Wait until five of them are close together, then shoot a poison arrow into the group. You might need to fire arrows into the legs of any people that are advancing too much. It may take a couple of tries to get it right, but it's doable.
- Dead Ringer (Get 25 headshots using the Bolt-Action Rifle) – Since the Bolt-Action Rifle is an accurate weapon, getting headshots with it shouldn't be too challenging. However, you might need to do some roaming around the open world if you don't get 25 headshots by the end of the story.
- Quick and Painless (Shoot 15 deer in the heart) – Before you attempt to get this trophy, you need to acquire the Anatomical Knowledge skill, which makes deers' hearts glow. To get organ-glowing ability, you must complete the Catacomb of Sacred Waters Tomb located within Geothermal Valley. True Shot is another skill that's really helpful for this trophy as it allows you to lock onto a deer's heart, and if you also have Triple Shot, you can lock onto three hearts at once. To find groups of the animal, hang around their markers in the Geothermal Valley, Siberian Wilderness, or Soviet Installation.
- Trick Shot (Shoot a bottle out of the air) – You find plenty of empty bottles throughout the game, and for this trophy, you need to throw one directly up in the air and shoot it. It's a lot easy to hit the airborne bottle with a shotgun.
- Rotisserie (Shoot a chicken out of the air with a fire arrow) – In the Ruins Encampment of Geothermal Valley, multiple chickens are running around. Grab one of the clucking birds, throw them up in the air, and shoot them with a fire arrow to get this trophy. The process sounds easy, but it can be tricky to hit the chicken while it's airborne. A technique that has worked for some people is to pick up the chicken, switch to your fire arrows, the chicken will fall, and you can shoot it when it's on the ground. Because the chicken is upside down, the game counts it as in the air, so it works for the trophy.
- Bacon! (Kill a razorback boar using a Molotov cocktail) – Boars aren't a common sight in Rise of the Tomb Raider, but a few are found slightly west of the Base Camp in the Ruins Encampment (Geothermal Valley) – the map even has an image of a boar to make it clear where they are located. Plus, you can make a Molotov using the bottles by the Base Camp. It should only take one hit with the cocktail to kill the animal.
- Huntress (Kill 50 animals while wearing the Huntress outfit) – You get the Huntress outfit by beating the "A Hearty Meal" side mission in Geothermal Valley. Once you've earned the attire, you will need to do a bit of grinding to get 50 animal kills. The Soviet Installation and the Geothermal Valley are great hunting grounds to find anything from birds to deer.
- Siberian Ranger (Beat 15 combat encounters after completing the game) – There aren't as many enemies to kill after you've beaten the story, but some are still around. The Soviet Installation, Siberian Wilderness, Geothermal Valley, and The Lost City all include packs of adversaries.
- Triple Threat (Kill 3 enemies with 1 Shotgun blast) – This trophy is very difficult for two reasons. Firstly, finding three people who are stood right next to each other isn't easy. And secondly, one Shotgun blast won't usually be enough to kill three enemies. Perhaps the best place to get the trophy during the story is at the same place as the Chemical Warfare trophy: on the way to Acropolis, after the cutscene where a helicopter flies overhead and some prisoners are executed. Get all of the enemies' attention, then run back to the tent area. All of your adversaries will bunch up as they go through the archway, which is your perfect time to strike. But it won't be easy to get the trophy whichever way you go about it.
- A Trusty Old Friend (Kill 5 enemies within 10 seconds using any rifle) – This is another really difficult trophy to earn. You can try to use the Bolt Action Rifle to get five quick headshots or lure five enemies into a group and spray them with Assault Rifle fire. For the latter strategy, you can use the same area suggested for the Chemical Warfare and Triple Threat trophies (on the way to Acropolis, after the cutscene with a helicopter and prisoners being executed).
Crafting And Upgrading Trophies
A few trophies in the game task you with crafting or upgrading your equipment. Plus, this section also covers trophies that focus on shopping and spending skill points.
- Weaponsmith (Fully upgrade any weapon) – You can upgrade weapons using your various resources while at a base camp. However, to get many of the top upgrades, you need a few tools. The Crafting Tool is kept in a strongbox that you can find in the Abandoned Mines area. Also found in a strongbox is the Enhancement Tool, which is located in Acropolis. And finally, the Refinement Tool can be bought from the Supply Shack in the Soviet Installation. You can also buy the Crafting and Enhancement Tools from the Supply Shack if you can't find them.
- Craftswoman (Craft 5 pieces of Equipment) – To craft equipment, go into a base camp, click on 'inventory,' then select 'equipment,' and you'll have a menu of things to create. Craft five of the items to earn this trophy.
- Master Fletcher (Craft 25 of each special arrow type (Fire, Grenade, Poison)) – You craft special arrows by simply having fire, grenade, or poison arrows equipped and holding down R1 (you need the right resources too). For this trophy, you need to build 25 fire arrows, 25 grenade arrows, and 25 poison arrows.
- Self-Improvement Junkie (Purchase all skills in a single category) – Skills have their own menu accessible through the base camp. There are three categories of skills (Brawler, Hunter, and Survivor). Simply get all of the skills in one of them to add this trophy to your collection.
- Avid Shopper (Purchase all items from the supply shack) – You come across the supply shack in the Northern part of the Soviet Installation during the story. To earn this trophy, you need to buy everything the shop sells, which costs a lot of Byzantine coins. Save some money by finding the Crafting and Enhancement tools in the world instead of buying them.

Exploration Trophies
From collectibles to challenge tombs, several trophies require you to explore the open world.
- Paying Respects (Attend a funeral) – After leaving the flooded archives during the story, you'll be heading up the left side of the Geothermal Valley. While walking up the hill to the main objective, you'll go over a wooden bridge and climb a little stone lip. Afterward, turn right to see a group of people who are having a funeral, stand beside them for a moment to get this trophy.
- Zipper (Perform a manual zip line transfer) – A manual zip line transfer is where you drop from one zip line (using the circle button) and land on another. There are a few places to get this one, including at the end of the Copper Mill section. Lara tends to propel forward when you let go of one zip line, so the next one doesn't have to be directly below you.
- Quiet Time (Find the best seat in the house) – The so-called "best seat in the house" is situated in the Geothermal Valley — more specifically, the Ruins Encampment. While there, look for the tower with a dome (or half of one) on top. To reach the dome, you need to make your way through the building next to it and swing across. On the top of the tower is a small wooden chair you must sit on to get the trophy.
- No Guts, No Glory (Perform a 2.5 second or longer swan dive) – You can do a swan dive by pressing (R2) or (Circle) right after jumping off a high cliff that has a pool of water underneath it. If you're struggling to find a cliff high enough, just do the 'High Diving' challenge in the Geothermal Valley, as one of the jumps is the right height.
- Reading the Past (Translate a Monolith) – There are several Monoliths in the game that need translating. To do so, you need to learn the languages by reading murals and picking up collectibles.
- Fluent (Reach max proficiency in any language) – To get this trophy, you need to achieve maximum proficiency for one of the languages in the game (Russian, Greek, or Mongolian). Improving your knowledge of the languages requires you to look at murals and gather certain collectibles.
- Keen Eye (Unearth 40 Survival Caches) – On the map, survival caches are little squares with a crosshair in them. However, they're not always represented on the map, so you also need to look for shiny spots on the ground. Go up to their location and hit the prompt to dig them up, and if you do this forty times, this trophy is yours.
- Looking for Trouble (Complete 5 Challenges) – Most areas in the game have their own specific challenges you can complete, such as 'loot three corpses' or 'cut down seven flags.' You can check the challenges when viewing the map. We have a guide on how to do the Geothermal Valley ones.
- Compulsive (Complete every Challenge) – See the 'Looking For Trouble' trophy.
- Good Samaritan (Complete 3 Missions) – Along with the main campaign, there are several side missions in the Soviet Installation and Geothermal Valley, each marked on the map with two downward arrows. These are the missions that count for the 'Good Samaritan' and 'Woman of the People' trophies.
- Woman of the People (Complete every Mission) – See the 'Good Samaritan' trophy.
- Challenging (Complete any Challenge Tomb) – Throughout the open world, there are nine different Challange Tombs to find. Each one is basically a large puzzle that you have to solve.
- Tomb Raider (Complete all Challenge Tombs) – See the 'Challenging' trophy.
- The Chosen Few (Uncover the remains of all Jacob's disciples) – The description of this trophy doesn't make it clear what you have to do. Your task is to enter the five Crypts scattered around the world and retrieve the treasures they contain. Get the Intuitive skill to put the entrance to every Crypt on the map — they're in the Soviet Installation, Geothermal Valley, and The Lost City.
- Truth Seeker (Collect 25% of all narrative assets (relics, murals, and documents)) – Relics, murals, and documents are three types of collectibles you can find in the open world. Finding them all is no easy task, but picking up satchels and treasure maps makes it easier as they put markers for the collectibles on the map.
- Voices of the Past (Collect 75% of all narrative assets (relics, murals, and documents)) – See the 'Truth Seeker' trophy.
- No Stone Unturned (Achieve 100% game completion) – To 100% the game, you need to do the following: beat the main story, do every side mission, complete all of the challenge tombs, raid all the crypts, do every challenge, and collect all of the collectibles (relics, documents, murals, coin caches, survival caches, and strongboxes).
Baba Yaga DLC Trophies
Many of the game's DLCs focus on the Expedition mode, but Baba Yaga provides extra story content and additional trophies. The Score Attack trophy has been excluded as it's not a part of the story or open-world.
- Hide and Seek (Baba Yaga: Rescue Nadia from Trinity) – Unmissable Story Progression Trophy
- Abandon All Hope (Baba Yaga: Enter the Wicked Vale) – Unmissable Story Progression Trophy
- A Moment of Clarity (Baba Yaga: Face the Witch and Live) – Unmissable Story Progression Trophy
- Amateur Chemist (Baba Yaga: Craft the Antidote) – Unmissable Story Progression Trophy
- Last Ride of the Witch House (Baba Yaga: Activate the Ancient Lift) – Unmissable Story Progression Trophy
- Truth Behind the Myth (Baba Yaga: Unmask Baba Yaga) – Unmissable Story Progression Trophy
- Fond Farewell (Baba Yaga: Speak to Nadia again before leaving the Wicked Vale) – Right after you've defeated the final boss of the DLC, you'll find Nadia at a table near the exit. Simply speak to her to get this trophy.
- Vasilisa's Lanterns (Baba Yaga: Complete the Challenge in the Wicked Vale) – There's one challenge in the Wicked Vale called 'Over The Cuckoo's Nest' that tasks you with shooting down ten overhanging lanterns in the area. Survival Instincts can help you find them all.
- The Witch Bottles (Baba Yaga: Unearth all Survival Caches in the Wicked Vale) – Like with survival caches in the regular open-world, you need to find the ones in the Wicked Vale by looking for shiny spots on the ground.
- Complete History of Witchcraft (Baba Yaga: Collect all of the Documents in the Wicked Vale) – There are 21 documents in the Wicked Vale to find and pick up. If you get them all, you receive a trophy.
- The Wraith of Siberia (Baba Yaga: Kill 50 enemies while wearing the Wraithskin outfit) – After completing the Baba Yaga story, you receive the Wraithskin outfit. Equip the new threads at a base camp and get 50 kills for this trophy (animals don't count). You can go out into the base game's open world to find enemies — the Soviet Installation, Siberian Wilderness, and the Lost City are good places to search for targets.
- Bravo's Legacy (Baba Yaga: Confuse 10 enemies with the Dreamstinger) – Another prize the game gives you for beating the Baba Yaga story is the Dreamstinger Bow. Instead of poison arrows, the Dreamstinger has pollen ones, which confuse enemies and turns them onto your side. For this trophy, you need to hit ten enemies with the pollen. The Soviet Installation, Siberian Wilderness, and the Lost City include plenty of potential victims you can shoot.
