LittleBigPlanet star and PlayStation mascot Sackboy branched out from sidescrolling 2D platformers last month when Sony released the Sumo Digital-developer 3D platformer Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which is probably one of the most charming launch games in PlayStation history. Though it hasn’t grabbed headlines the way the likes of Demon’s Souls or Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales have, those who’ve gotten their hands on the game have had great things to say about it (rightly so), and Sony have highlighted some of that praise in a newly released accolades trailer.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure takes the LittleBigPlanet star and crafts a delightful 3D platforming adventure around him, putting the focus squarely on an experience more like Super Mario 3D World than the creative “play, create, share” mantra Sackboy has usually been known for. The results are solid, as the accolades trailer highlights.
In our own review of the game, we awarded the game an 8/10, calling it “a delightful platformer that mostly does a great job despite playing a bit too easy most of the time.” You can read our full review through here.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is available now on PS5 and PS4.
