Space Invaders was an arcade game from the '70s that had you playing as a spaceship shooting down hostile alien UFOs to try and bag a high score. It was the usual early gaming stuff. However, one fan has uploaded their own rendition on itch.io that swaps out the game's UFOs for the declassified photos released by the Pentagon – not so usual gaming stuff.
It comes from WoeIndustries which appears to be a brand new studio set up on itch.io just for this game. You can play it on your web browser for a good little chuckle to distract you from work. It was developed by Steven Nass and Peter Henningsen.

For context, the Pentagon released three UFO videos from Navy pilots back in April of last year showing off, as the name suggests, unidentified flying objects going at incredibly high speeds in the Earth's atmosphere. The videos themselves are from 2004 and 2015 and were released amidst leaks to "clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage circulating was real."
UFO doesn't mean alien hovercraft or flying saucer, though. It just means something bobbing about in the sky that people can't quite put their finger on – somnething unidentifiable. Maybe it's a bird, maybe it's a plane – hell, maybe it's a Space Invader.
"There's a whole fleet of them… My gosh, they're all going against the wind!" One of the Navy pilots said in the Pentagon recording. "The wind is 120 knots to the west. Look at that thing, dude!"
They aren't going quite that fast in this Space Invaders parody but they're fun to shoot down all the same.
