Spiritfarer Surprise Releases Today On PC and Console

It Was Just Dying To Get Out

Thunder Lotus has decided to shake everyone out of the reveree by announcing that their intriguing game Spiritfarer releases today on all platforms, taking advantage of the Nintendo Indie World Direct event.

Originally revealed at E3 2019, Spiritfarer is described as a "cozy management game about dying" by the developer, where you play as Stella, a titular Spiritfarer who serves as a ferrymaster to the deceased. As you build a boat, you befriend spirits and help care for them before they deparate to the afterlife. As you travel across the mystical sea talking with your spirit passengers you can farm, fish, cook, craft, harvest, and mine as you learn more about them and learn about how to say goodbye to dear friends. It also features two player co-operative play with Daffodil the cat.

Creative Director overlooking the development of Spiritfarer Nicolas Guérin had the following to say on the release of this game:

I will say that it's been pretty tough keeping this launch under the radar! We took what is by far our biggest, most ambitious production yet, and decided to up the ante by releasing Spiritfarer simultaneously on almost every system under the sun. Our fans have been so patient, waiting for us just to say 'when'. Well, I'm happy to tell them: the time is now! Spiritfarer is a game that's near and dear to our hearts, so we hope you'll set sail with us..

Spiritfarer is available today on Xbox One (and Game Pass), PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic, and GOG) for $29.99.
