Tale Of Immortal Gets English Translation

Earlier this year, an early access Chinese open-world RPG by the name 'Tale of Immortal' launched. It hit a peak of 180,000 concurrent players on Steam, solidying itself as an instant hit, but it wasn't accessible to non-Chinese speaking players right off the bat. Nonetheless, the game resonating with players has motivated GuiGu Studio to bring out an English translation.

"[The] English version is newly updated with a progress of 90%," GuiGu stated in a Steam blog. "Small updates of the English version may not be updated in real-time because the localization requires a certain amount of time. We will complete the localization as soon as possible. There will be a discount after 10am PST on August 30 for those who want to try it – the lowest price ever."

Tale of Immortal is currently on sale for £12.39 on Steam. With over 96,000 reviews, it sits at a "Very Positive" rating. Bar that, the update was chock full of bug fixes such as the game getting stuck when Ultimate Skills are triggered. It's listed as a "small update" despite its hefty localization announcement, after all.

The game isn't just developed by a Chinese studio, it's also heavily based on and influenced by Chinese mythology. The goal of the game is, as the name suggests, to rise from mere morality to immortality, lending itself to the fantasy RPG elements it thrives in.

"The theme of the game combines the immortal cultivation and the unique cultural background of The Classics of Mountain and Sea," the Steam page stated. "Players will experience the journey from a mortal to a strong, god-like being.

"Our studio hopes that in this game, players will express the theme of 'Always stick to your heart, dare to fight against difficulties; make choices carefully and grasp your own destiny.'"
