The Medium has impressed a lot of people in its initial reveal and the footage that came afterward. It’s an old school style horror game that harkens to these types of titles we saw a lot in the early 2000s. Regardless of how well it’ll land, we do know how much space you’ll need.
The game is now up for pre-install on Xbox Series X/S via Game Pass, and the file size is 23.07 GB, so not too terrible. On PC, it’s about the same, but Steam lists its pre-install at 24.47 GB (thanks to Twinfinite for info on the Steam one). Do keep in mind that this is the current pre-installed version and things like day 1 patches and perhaps even updates with the impressive ray-tracing the game has shown off could still alter things. The updated PC requirements for the game, which you can see through here, do recommend having 50 GB of space so it’s entirely possible this file size could change when the game launches next week.
The Medium will release on Xbox Series X/S and PC on January 28th. The game is said to be roughly 8-10 hours, and you can read more about that and its unique dual world gameplay through here.
