The Walking Dead Onslaught is Coming This September

The Onslaught is coming.

Developer and Publisher Survios has announced that their VR title The Walking Dead Onslaught will be releasing on consoles and PC on September 29, 2020.

The Walking Dead Onslaught is the official VR game for AMC’s The Walking Dead, where players will assume the roles of their “favorite survivors” from the TV series and try survive against the Walkers and the people who have struggled to survive in this post apocalyptic world.

Players will be introduced to a “visceral combat experience” and utilize melee and ranged weapons using real-motion VR mechanics. It’s too bad that the game also doesn’t offer you the chance to cancel the TV show before it went on for too long, but we can’t have everything, eh?

The game features a “Progressive Dismemberment System” where the player will be able to utilize “end results” such as delimbing, where Walker limbs can be removed at many joints such as arms, legs, and the neck. Players will also be able to create realistic wounds anywhere on a walker’s body, impale them (and people) and watch them react where they are stabbed, and context-based physics where “varying reactions take place based on context”, which essentially means that you’ll be able to get stuck while slicing through enemies, experience resistance when pulling out your weapons, and grapple with them, which is apparently was a very challenging thing to accomplish.

The Walking Dead Onslaught will release on VR for PC and consoles on September 29, 2020. If you want to wishlist the game on Steam, make sure to go here.
