Unwelcome Guests is a multi-part quest in Wasteland 3 that tasks players with visiting a variety of different locations and engaging with numerous NPCs. This means that there are several different points at which a fan may find themselves lost during Unwelcome Guests, and this Wasteland 3 guide looks to help these players by providing both full details on how to complete each quest step and information on the various choices that must be made throughout.

The first part of Unwelcome Guests sends Wasteland 3 fans to Broadmoor Heights, an area that is entered through the southwest corner of Downtown Colorado Springs’ market square. Upon reaching this area, players should simply move forward and enter the church that is on their right hand side. Gideon Reyes is located near a bookcase inside of this church, and players should agree to assist him with the “refugee crisis” to advance to the next step.

Now it is time for fans to head to the World Map, and this can be done by interacting with the Kodiak housed in the Ranger HQ garage. Once they have entered this Wasteland 3 vehicle and accessed the World Map, players should go south, and they will eventually cross a bridge that leads into the Bizarre Outskirts. Continuing east from here, fans will ultimately encounter an entrance to the Bizarre that they should interact with.

On the other side, players should speak with Ananda Rabindranath, a Wasteland 3 NPC, to receive a quest called Knock, Knock that will task them with finding a way to enter the Bizarre. Ananda will also tell fans that they may want to look for the smugglers of interest in a parking garage up north, and indeed that is exactly where they should go next.

As a players reach the bridge to the north of Ananda, a dialogue will trigger with Lewis Stenerud. This will eventually lead to a battle with the smugglers, and fans should loot their corpses, as well as the destroyed turrets, after they are defeated in order to receive the Smugglers Camp Key.

At this point, players should use the key to open the nearby locked door and speak with Carmen. During this conversation, fans will need to decide if they will help the refugees or not in this new RPG. Players that choose to assist should advance to the quest step that requires entrance into the Bizarre, and those that do not should skip straight to the step centered around Mama Cotter.

This now brings things back to the quest given by Ananda, and there are three ways that a Wasteland 3 squad can go about entering the Bizarre:

  1. Continuing east past the bridge that leads into the parking garage players will find a building filled with enemies, including one named Dr. Smiles. Defeating these enemies will give players access to a Bizarre entrance pass, which is looted from the corpse on the chair.
  2. Paris Handler, who is located in Hopeful’s Camp to the south of Ananda, will reward an entrance pass in exchange for red dye.
  3. Players can purchase a pass for $500 at the entrance to the Bizarre.

In the Bizarre, fans should speak with Pareidolia Jones, and they can enlist his assistance with $300, Level 7 Kick Ass, or Level 6 Barter.

Players should now go back to Downtown Colorado Springs and speak with Mama Cotter in her camp. One final choice will come up during this conversation, and here are the options that fans have:

  • Arrest: This option instantly causes a loss of 15 reputation with the Wastelander Refugees. Players must then decide if they will send her with the Marshals, which will cause them to be hated by the Refugees, or to the prison at Ranger HQ.
  • Look the Other Way: This option grants players 15 reputation with the Wastelander Refugees, and Mama Cotter provide mechanics.

Fans have now reached the final step of the Unwelcome Guests quest, and the decision that was made in the previous step will determine how things resolve. More specifically, if a player chose to arrest Mama then Gideon will give them Hundred Families reputation and mechanics, and he will also be recruitable as a political advisor. If they let her go, though, then Gideon will take Hundred Families reputation away, and fans will not be able to recruit him.

Wasteland 3 is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
