I Sifu, I Punch It
Sloclap is back at the hand-to-hand, 1vWorld, badass-fighter game. A few years back, they made Absolver; an online adventure fighting game with a focus on hand-to-hand combat. Earlier this year, they revealed a new game called Sifu, which is another fighting game, but it has some more interesting elements to it. So far, Sloclap has released a reveal trailer, but according to their Twitter account, a more substantial gameplay trailer is coming out soon. Judging by the gameplay we have already seen, we should expect some incredible things in the upcoming trailer.
In Sifu, you play as a kung-fu student who is on a revenge mission, probably to avenge his master. You take your fight throughout the city, beating up gangs and thugs as you go. There appears to be a supernatural catch though. It seems that whenever you die, you come back, but older. You start out as a young man, but the more you play and die, your hair gets longer, you begin growing a beard, you get wrinkles, and your hair begins to grey. So, all I need to do to grow a beard is get stabbed? Count me in.
Players will have to use various combinations of punches, kicks, dodges, parries, and counters to fight their way to vengeance. You will also use improvised weapons and environmental objects to beat down your opponents. Sifu does not have an official release date, but is aiming for a 2021 launch on PC, PS4, and PS5.
