Vampire: The Masquerade Swansong Delayed February 2022

Bad news for those waiting to get their hands on the third installment in the Vampire: The Masquerade series. Developer Big Bad Wolf Studio and publisher Nacon have announced that the game, titled Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, will not make its previously announced release date of 2021. Instead, the game will debut for both previous and current-gen consoles in February of 2022.

However, it is not all bad news. Along with the news of the delay, Big Bad Wolf Studio released a brand-new trailer for the game that introduces a new character called Galeb. According to publisher Nacon, Galeb is one of the oldest and most feared Vampires living in the city of Boston. Having travelled the world and amassed a wealth of both riches and power, Galeb is left wanting for something he has lost, or perhaps something he never had in the first place. He is one of three playable characters within Swansong whose intertwined stories will decide the fate of Boston. You can check out his character trailer below:

Swansong was announced back in October of 2019 at PDXCON. News on the game was sparse until Summer of 2020 when a 2021 release date was announced along with the news that the title would be available on next-gen systems. This release date was in place up until last month when a new trailer debuted at PC Gaming Show that showed off a vampire woman, possibly one of the other three playable characters the game will focus on, on a murderous search for her little girl.

Swansong will be an RPG based on the fifth edition of the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop game. It will utilize the rules of the most recent edition of the tabletop to establish a rich RPG filled with lore and intrigue. While it has been revealed that it will take place in Boston, not much more is known about the story the game will tell. Of course, Swansong isn’t the only upcoming title in the World of Darkness universe. Bloodhunt, a free-to-play battle royale set within the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, is currently in its Closed Alpha and is expected later this year.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will now release February 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
