Who's a Good Boy?
Can you pet the dog in Ghostwire: Tokyo? Yes you can, according to a new announcement from the developers highlighting this incredibly important gameplay feature in action.
Check out this short clip of next-gen dog-petting and see the proof for yourself:
Ghostwire: Tokyo is going to be a game with some strong horror elements, but it's not going to be a grimdark horror game without the occasional bits of light. Yes, you'll have to deal with fantastic phantasms and other strange phenomena, but the developers have also taken the time to put in the abilit to pet dogs.
"I've been wondering why it's been feeling so tough lately, then I realized that I've been in this industry for 30 years," Tango Gameworks Executive Producer Shinji Mikami said in a video. "I'd rather not become a fossil in the game industry so I'll do my best to be a living, breathing fossil."
"Thank you for the amazing reception our recent gameplay trailer received," Mikami continued. "In the meantime, we are working hard to make this game even more cool and unique. Lastly, I have a very important announcement about Ghostwire: Tokyo. In Ghostwire: Tokyo, you'll be able to pet the dog.
Previously, we got to see the Ghostwire: Tokyo gameplay reveal trailer during a PlayStation 5 event. Unlike some of its contemporaries during that show, this trailer actually had some gameplay in it.
When is the Ghostwire: Tokyo Release Date?
With this stunning reveal of next-gen doggo technology, that leaves us with just one more question: when will you be able to pet the dog in Ghostwire: Tokyo?
Unfortunately, neither the trailer nor the Bethesda news post announcing this amazing new feature has any new information. As far as we know, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be launching sometime in 2021.
We still have a long wait ahead of us, but there's still something you can spend your hard-earned money on. Bethesda is partnering with Dallas Pets Alive and FOUR PAWS to raise money through the sale of two adorable t-shirts. Find out how to get these shirts for yourself at the Bethesda news post.
