Assassin’s Creed Origins: How To Complete The Gift From The Gods Quest

The Gift From the Gods quest in Assassin's Creed Origins pays homage to the Final Fantasy quest bearing the same name. The Developers at Square Enix and Ubisoft have long been fans of each others' work, including tributes to each other in their games. For example, Square Enix included a reference to Assassin's Creed Origins in Final Fantasy XV, which featured a festival event that allowed players to acquire Bayek's outfit.

Likewise, in Assassin's Creed Origins, Ubisoft created the Gift from the Gods quest, as well as featured Ardyn and a few other FFXV items. Just like in the FFXV quest, gamers will need to solve a puzzle to complete the objective.

A Rock Falls From The Sky

To begin the quest, Bayek will need to travel to the cliffs overlooking the Giza and the ancient pyramids in the Ptolemaic Kingdom. A massive meteorite will strike the ground right in front of the Medium Pyramid. After watching the meteorite fall, Bayek will investigate the crash site to see what has fallen from the sky. Players will need to be level 23 for the side quest to activate. Bayek will say:

"By all the gods! Have they sent a message from the sky? It's as if Ra has descended upon us."

Head down to the crash site, which is right in front of an ancient tomb. Once Bayek inspects the meteorite, the next step is to explore the tomb. Inside, there are markings on the wall that look like a sundial.

Solve The Sun Dial Puzzle

Walk up the steps and wait for the cut scene, which will fast travel Bayek to the daytime. All of the pillars surrounding the dial will open and a blue light will appear. Shoot three arrows at the blue light on the pillar that is on the opposite side of the dial (the tall pointy structure). This will complete the puzzle, and gamers will be instructed to return to the tomb. With the puzzle solved, the wall that was blocking the entrance to the tomb will disappear.

FF XV Cameo

Inspect the objective and the glass will shatter. Ardyn from FFXV will emerge from the shattered glass. This part of the quest is confusing to say the least, as players are probably expecting an Egyptian Pharaoh to appear. Instead, they get Ardyn and a metal bird that fires swords at the ground.

Nonetheless, Ardyn will be pulled into the heavens, leaving only his sword and shield. Once he disappears, the quest is over, and gamers will be able to pick up some pretty awesome rewards.

Rewards

Bayek will receive three items for finishing the side mission. These are the Kweh Mount, Ziedrich Shield, and Ultima Blade. All three of the items are well worth the few minutes of effort it takes to complete the quest. Any fan of Final Fantasy will especially love adding these rewards to their arsenal.

  • Kweh Mount: Kweh is a bird mount that moves quite fast (and, interestingly for a bird, has hooves).
  • Ziedrich: Ziedrich is a legendary shield that provides increased absorption rate and ranged resistance. Every successful block causes enemies to bleed. For those that like using shields, the Ziedrich is one of the best in the game.
  • Ultima Blade Sword: The Ultima Blade is an exceptional sword that offers increased critical hit rate, adrenaline regeneration, and health absorption on critical hits. With a high level character, these benefits are substantial. The sword also has a blue aura when swung, and a red hit marker on impact.

The combined force of the sword and the shield will leech health from enemies while they slowly bleed out. Also, they look incredible in game. Collectors will not want to pass this side quest up.

Like other items in Origins, the sword and shield will scale to the character. Gamers should keep that in mind before they finish the quest, or they may be disappointed if they get these items as level 23 gear.
