SEGA’s upcoming Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is certainly a highly-anticipated release for fans of the franchise, but the developer seems to be going all-in with the remaster. There’s a whole host of new playable characters from Sega’s other franchises – and Hello Kitty has been confirmed to be a part of this roster at launch.
A trailer on the official YouTube channel for the game confirms this detail, and the titular Hello Kitty can be seen rolling around in a ball over a litany of obstacles. However, what’s most important is that this character would be a paid DLC with a tag of $4.99, which is at odds with previous character announcements which were available for well, free.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania was one of the standout highlights of Nintendo’s E3 Direct this year, which is an achievement considering games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel and Metroid: Dread shared the stage with the game. The game launches on October 5th for all major console platforms.
