August is coming to a close, leaving many events behind in Pokemon GO. Fortunately, there are plenty of events that will be arriving throughout the month of September for 2020. These events include the Community Day where the subject was recently voted on my players as well as the return of many Legendary Pokemon.
There are currently thirteen events planned for Pokemon GO in September. Each of these will be available for a limited time only, so players are recommended to complete the tasks involved with the events as quickly as they can.

Some of the upcoming events are expected each month, such as the monthly research breakthrough and the Community Day. Others include changes to raid Pokemon such as the current Heatran raids available as of now.
The research breakthrough encounter for September of 2020 will be Alolan Raichu. Players will also earn a guaranteed 5000 Stardust for completing a research breakthrough.
Players can achieve a research breakthrough by completing 7 field research tasks over the course of 7 days with at least 1 task being completed over the 7 days. These days do not have to be in a row.

Starting on September 7th, 2020 at 4:00 pm EDT, all leagues in Season 3 of the GO Battle League will be open. This will include the Great League (Max CP of 1,500), Ultra League (Max CP of 2,500), and Master League (No CP limit). The Premier League will also be available for all players.

This event will likely include special research tasks as well as allow players to have a Porygon-Z that knows the move, Tri-Attack. This will be the move’s first time being in Pokemon GO and players will need to evolve Porygon into Porygon2 before evolving Porygon2 into Porygon-Z in order to obtain it.
In addition, Porygon, Porygon2, and Porygon-Z will all have their shiny forms added to Pokemon GO for this event, allowing players to find a new shiny for their collections.

Players who complete these tasks will be able to catch the Legendary dual psychic and fire-type Pokemon, Victini. These tasks function the same as the tasks required to catch Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi.
