Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War got an official reveal trailer today. With new details about the Call of Duty game’s release and beta, fans of the franchise are looking forward to playing the game for themselves. Today, Activision announced the prices that players can expect to pay for the game.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on the horizon, it seems there’s in the game for fans to experience. This is one of the first Call of Duty game with campaign character creation options, so fans will be able to customize their character so they can play the game in a more personalized way. However, it seems that fans will have to pay a little more for the game if they want to play it on next-generation consoles.

According to a post made by Activision on its website, there are going to be three editions of the game when it comes out, and each is different from the others. The Standard edition allows players to experience the game on PS4 or Xbox One, and while they can only play on these consoles, gamers can still cross-play with friends on other consoles.
The Cross-Gen Bundle edition lets fans play on the current generation consoles and then move their profile and stats when they upgrade their console. The last edition is called the Ultimate edition, which includes the game for both current and next-generation consoles as well as the Land, Seas, and Air pack and a Battle Pass Bundle for any season of the game after it is released.
Each of these editions cost different amounts to purchase. The Standard version costs $59.99, while the Cross-Gen Bundle is $69.99 and Ultimate is $89.99. Since this is the case, it appears the Call of Duty franchise is going to be selling its next-generation console games at a higher price.
While some companies, like Ubisoft, have committed to pricing initial next-generation console games at $60, some others are considering raising the prices of these games due to the increased cost it takes to produce them. It seems that Activision is following this route as well.
Despite the increase in price, the next-gen Call of Duty game features elements that are exclusive to these consoles such as decreased loading time, a higher frame rate, and more. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War currently available for pre-order.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released November 13 for PS4, Xbox, and PC with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
