The Daemons of Chaos have been revealed as the eighth and final playable race for the launch of Total War Warhammer 3. The trilogy-ending grand strategy game will be coming out for PC, Mac and Linux on 17th February 2022. That’s less than a month from now!
The Daemons of Chaos are led by the Ungol Prince, a human lord who gave himself over to the Chaos Gods in an act of betrayal that sets the events of Total War Warhammer 3 into motion, he has been transformed wholly into the Daemon Prince. However, he’s not yet aligned to a particular Chaos faction, allowing for an intriguing mish-mash of Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanesh and Tzeentch.
Through the campaign, the Daemons of Chaos will be able to mix together forces from all the Chaos Gods, making them particularly versatile as they combine playstyles. New units are unlocked by dedicating settlements to a particular god, enabling you to build a particular faction’s buildings.
Additionally, you earn Daemonic Glory through every victory in the campaign, feeding into an all-in-one progression system that’s devoted to your Prince. As you earn glory for each god, they will bestow upon you a string of gifts, modifications that can replace many parts of your daemonic body and enhance and change the way he appears and plays in battle. Eventually you can ascend as a champion of one of the four Chaos Gods, or choose to be the Undivided Champion, with any of these five paths giving some of the most powerful gifts in the game. Creative Assembly claim there are 500 billion possible body combinations!

All five Chaos factions have now been revealed, alongside the human empires of Kislev and Grand Cathay, as well as the Ogre Kingdoms, which are a pre-order bonus.
Originally expected to release in late 2021, Sega decided that the game needed more time in the oven, pushing things back so that Total War: Warhammer 3 will release on 17th February 2022 instead. The game will also be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass for PC.
