Spelunky, the PC Game of the Year in 2013 and Independent Game Festival winner is coming to switch! And that’s not all, both it and its sequel, Spelunky 2, are expected to arrive in summer 2021. Spelunky originally launched back in 2012 and has since become a favorite for many gamers.
Spelunky is a platformer where you explore caves with monsters, traps, and plenty of secrets. Spelunky never gets boring because each time you die, the caves are randomly-generated to create a unique experience for each go. You can pick up and throw almost any object you encounter. How you navigate the levels is up to you and you will become more skilled over time!
The originally Spelunky came out in 2008 as a free to play PC game. Since then, the game has grown and improved with new monsters, music, traps, and more. Since the release, Spelunky has also become popular within the speedrunning community. There is even a couch co-op mode! With so much to discover, Switch owners will likely be getting their flashlights and spelunking gear ready in anticipation for this game!
