In these trying times, focusing on lighthearted things really helps to keep one sane. It’s one reason why the goofy Fall Guys is so popular nowadays, and it’s why gamers may want to keep an eye on Alpaca Ball: Allstars, a new game that answers a question no one was probably asking: “What if Rocket League, but with alpacas?”
Set to hit the Switch and Steam in October, this title from Badland Publishing and developer Salt Castle Studio will offer a twist on soccer never before seen in a video game. Taking a note from more arcade-y sports titles like NBA Jam, Alpaca Ball will offer something crazy at every turn with a version of the beautiful game where players hit the ball with their long fluffy necks, the goals have no goalies, and the usual no-contact rules don’t seem to apply.

As silly as it all is, it looks like the game won’t be skimping on content. According to a trailer that was released today, Alpaca Ball: Allstars will boast features like a physics-based engine (for “unpredictable and hilarious results”), a variety of South American-inspired pitches, competitive modes for up to eight players, local and online multiplayer, a full-on Career Mode, custom matches, and, of course, plenty of customization options for the alpacas.
“The key to the mechanics of Alpaca Ball: Allstars lies in the powerful neck of its players, which can hit the ball so hard it literally catches fire,” reads the trailer’s description. “But watch out, the direction of the impacts will vary depending on where your alpaca is facing at the time, which adds a hilarious twist to a game as dizzying as it is exciting.”
Alpaca Ball: Allstars will launch on October 15 for PC and Switch.
