Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Has Added PS5 DualSense Support

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has quietly integrated the PS5 DualSense controller into the PC version of the game. The only feature used however, is the adaptive triggers.

As pointed out by VGC’s Andy Robinson, the adaptive triggers have been incorporated while using the bow. A half press would have Eivor aim, while a full press will fire the arrow. There’s no word yet on whether the haptic feedback will be included as well.

This makes Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the second game to incorporate the DualSense controller for PC after Metro Exodus. The Enhanced Edition of Metro Exodus was patched earlier in May to allow the game to make full use of the controller’s next-gen features.

Ubisoft has mentioned that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be the most supported game in the series. Ubisoft recently launched the Wrath of the Druids expansion which took Eivor to Ireland to fight a mysterious cult. Before that, the River Raids mode was added to the game, allowing you to raid some of England’s richer riverbanks for rate loot.

The game’s E3 showcase also announced a new Discovery Tour releasing this fall. It will be similar to the Discovery Tour modes from Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey, but looks like it may add a life simulator layer to the mode as well. Later on, the Raven Clan will be headed to Francia, where they must make allies and claim power in the Siege of Paris expansion.

Most recently though, the Mastery Challenges mode has been added to the game. This mode challenges Eivor to a series of ranked combat, stealth, and archery challenges. You can earn tokens to trade in for rare weapons and cosmetics.

Ubisoft’s depiction of Ireland in the Wrath of the Druids expansion was pretty detailed; so much so that Tourism Ireland made a video for its new campaign, comparing the in-game locations to their real-life counterparts to encourage tourism. “Ubisoft has done an incredible job in bringing aspects of Celtic Ireland to life in amazing detail,” said Mark Henry, Tourism Ireland’s Central Marketing Director. “Tourism Ireland’s campaign is a fun and innovative way to bring the island of Ireland to the attention of a new audience of gamers.”
