Baldur’s Gate 3 – Hotfix 1 Addresses Crashes, Multiplayer Fixes Coming

Baldur's Gate 3 (3)

Following its launch on early access for Steam, GOG and Google Stadia, Baldur’s Gate 3 has seen quite the reception. Developer Larian Studios reported “insane” sales on launch day and the RPG’s Steam user reviews are currently “Very Positive.” However, this is only the first step in the game’s early access journey with numerous bugs and issues to address.

Larian is rolling out the fixes quickly with hotfix 1 now being available and addressing numerous crashes. These includes crashes from rush-type actions, character creation, during dialogs and whatnot. Items should also stop overlapping within inventory views. Some multiplayer issues, like players not being able to ready up when others joined the lobby, have also been fixed.

However, the development team is currently working on other multiplayer issues (and is currently “very close to solving several of them”), so stay tuned for further update. It’s also recommended to disable any Steam/Discord overlays in case of slowdown and to also run the game in DX11 mode in case of crashes or other issues. In the meantime, check out the full change log for hotfix 1 below.

  • Fixed a crash related to using rush-type actions.
  • Fixed a crash related to the target camera.
  • Fixed a crash in character creation.
  • Fixed a crash during dialogs.
  • Fixed overlapping items inside the inventory views.
  • Fixed “Pickup” and “Pickup And Add To Wares” inside containers.
