Masaaki Yamagiwa, the producer on Bloodborne and other Sony Japan Studio titles, has announced he will leave Sony at the end of this month.
Yamagiwa cofirmed his departure from Sony in a Twitter post, where he said “I’m leaving Sony Interactive Entertainment at the end of this month. I’m going to continue working hard on creating games. Many thanks to everyone!”
Yamagiwa also produced more experimental Sony Japan Studio titles like Tokyo Jungle and Deracine. He didn’t share details on where he will be next – but his statement did confirm he’ll continue working in games.
Yamagiwa is the latest in a string of higher up developers from Sony Japan Studio that have all been leaving the company. Previously, the Demon’s Souls remake and another Bloodborne producer Teruyuki Toriyama left the company, followed by Siren and Gravity Rush creator Keiichiro Toyama departing Sony alongside Sato Kazunobu and Junya Okura.
