Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Sets The Stage For Season 5 With New Cutscene

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans are interested to find out where the story will be going next, and the latest cutscene provides some answers. In the Season 4 outro, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans are teased regarding the location of the next multiplayer map.

The previous cinematic released for Season 4 saw Perseus shooting down a satellite and a brainwashed Adler assisting them in the coverup. What his next role in the story will be remains to be seen, though with Adler not appearing in any other entry in the series, his future does not seem bright. Regardless, the new Season seems to be teasing that Stitch’s endgame will be shown in Season 5, with the villain possibly being stopped in Season 6.

In the outro for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4, players hear Wraith talking to someone over the phone. She mentions how Jackal took down the satellite and that the Verdansk test sites are looking good, with both actions seemingly clearing the way for the new Operator. The camera focuses on a bag with “materials” for the mysterious character, with no indication given as to what is hidden inside. With anything from a missile to a nuke possible, it will be interesting to see what happens once Season 5 debuts.

While the identity of this agent could be Adler or an entirely new Operator, the most likely scenario is that it will be an original character. Based on all the other Seasons thus far, a masked Perseus operative is likely, with leaks hinting that their design could be Japanese-themed. However, while the mystery regarding the person on the other end of the call is intriguing, the more exciting part of the teaser is that it confirms where players will be fighting inside of the new multiplayer map.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans can expect to head to Teufelsberg, Germany in the next match. Wraith tells the operative to pack warm clothing, and for good reason, as the map will seemingly be set on Devil’s Mountain. With the area being near Berlin, Treyarch may be able to reuse some resources from the campaign and Zombies for this map. Home to a United States listening station with a unique satellite array, it seems like a fine setting for multiplayer. With the area being part of the military’s real-life Echelon network, and a map leaked named Echelon, players have a good idea of what to expect.

With Yemen and Plaza leaking as well, a huge chunk of Season 5’s multiplayer content has been figured out a bit early. For those interested in the ongoing story, though, it is clear that Treyarch still has some surprises in store.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
