Fans are constantly on the lookout for the next addition to Call of Duty: Warzone. Discussions about upgrades to the trains, new weapons, and even an underground subway system have fans theorizing and inspecting every broadcast for evidence of the next Warzone season.

During the latest Call of Duty League celebration, fans got a glimpse of Verdansk. In this slight preview, fans noticed a detail that does not exist on the map as is. Putting together what little they know, fans came up with one possible reason for this map addition.

Noticed originally by the fans on Geeky Pastime’s Discord, a new building has appeared outside of the Stadium. There have been early rumors circulating that a Warzone subway system may be coming to the game, but so far there have been no confirmations from the development team. The new building does appear to be a small subway station with the signature arched roof, connected plot, and location. Although no one is positive what this building is, the one thing fans can agree on is that it does not appear in the current build of the game.

The idea of a subway system under Verdansk has been circulating for quite some time. With the above-ground train running on a direct route, an underground train is not outside the realm of possibility. Multiple subway stations would allow for expected points where the train lets off while still offering fast transportation for players who dare to take it.

If the subway were added to Verdansk, one of the stop points would be near the Stadium. Aside from its prominent location, a leaked map suggests that the Stadium, Airport, and several other locations would be receiving subway stops.

A subway system in Warzone would have a massive impact on transportation, similar to Season 5’s Train. Currently, players have access to assorted ground vehicles and one aircraft not counting the train. To have an underground network system that would transport players quickly from one point to another could change how players behave in terms of dropping, looting, and exploring the map.

Many fans expect the subway to debut in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6. Although there is no confirmation regarding upcoming content, fans are still diligently putting together predictions for upcoming game content. With Season 6 possibly confirmed, all that is left for fans to do is wait for Season 5’s end on September 28th.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
