Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions has sold over half a million units – news confirmed by publisher Bandai Namco and developer Tamsoft.

The fantasy-sports game has sold over 500,000 units worldwide – a milestone reached within the first week of sale as it launched on August 28th of this year.

To celebrate the new milestone, Bandai Namco revealed the contents of its upcoming 1.02 update, which is set to release for PlayStation 4 sometime later this month, with the PC and Switch patches coming next month.

Here’s the patch details:

  • Adjusted difficulty level of Otomo/Hanawa Middle School Match in “EPISODE OF TSUBASA”
  • Improved matchmaking in Division Match and the cost difference between players
  • Added a function to display the unlock condition for an unlocked DAD
  • In-game notification called “NEWS” will be available
  • Improved other bugs and game balance issues

New Content:

  • Adding several versions of top tier Training Items in a new shop called CC SHOP
  • ONLINE CHALLENGE and Log-in Bonus Feature to gain new Captain Coins (CC)
