Netflix announced that fans can expect Cobra Kai to return with new action-packed sequences in December 2021. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer that proved the stakes for the impending All Valley tournament will be higher than ever. The third season of Cobra Kai ended with mortal rivals Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso putting their differences aside to take down John Kreese once and for all. As the series has proved, it's not only the rivaling dojos who have something to lose. Now that alliances are shifting, Cobra Kai'sfourth season will be unlike any of its predecessors. Lawrence's new dojo, Eagle Fang Karate, teamed up with LaRusso's Miyagi-Do to learn from the stylings of both All Valley champs. Learning from both Lawrence's slightly aggressive teaching tactics and LaRusso's preached morality, these students will be getting the best of both worlds. Kreese's attack first attitude is about to experience some major pushback.
With the animosity between LaRusso and Lawrence appearing to have taken a backseat to their problems with Kreese, the next season may not feel as drama-filled and comedic. Now that Lawrence and LaRusso are teaming up, they will be working closer than ever. If their hunt for Robby wasn't enough of a hint, the bickering between LaRusso and Lawrence in Cobra Kai season 3 is far from over. Robby's dwindling trust will make his confrontation with Miguel, Sam, his former sensei, and his father more dramatic than his previous attempt at the All Valley title.
While the students of the opposing dojos made up, it's unlikely that training together will be smooth sailing. The teasing antics between the senseis will certainly rub off their students and tensions will fly once again. So, for those watching the drama, don't lose hope just yet.
Cobra Kai gained vast notoriety after it switched streaming platforms. The series first debuted on YouTube Red in 2018 and remained there for its second season. Prior to the release of season three, Netflix picked up the Karate Kid spin-off. In the summer of 2020, the first two seasons were released on Netflix and the third season of Cobra Kai debuted at the start of 2021. With Netflix's latest announcement, fans will now be able to binge the newest season sooner than they may have expected.
