Grounded: Every Bug And What They Drop

Bugs are a plentiful enemy type in Grounded, and it's great because game developers have figured out a way to make them terrifying without giving them radioactive mutations, such as in post-apocalyptic video games. Since you've shrunk down to the size of an ant in Grounded, it's no surprise that bugs are going to be the greatest threat to your survival.

However, sometimes bugs can aid in your survival as well, if you get an important item by defeating one of them. Here's a list of every bug you can encounter in Grounded and what items they drop.

Where Do You Find Insects In Grounded And What Do They Drop?

Insects, arthropods, and other creepy-crawly enemies are found all over the Backyard. Some enemies are found more often than others, and some bugs are only found in certain locations. Below is everything you need to know about where to find every bug in Grounded.

There are a lot of insects in Grounded, so here's all of them, and what you'll obtain by defeating them.

Water Boatman

Dropped Items: Water Boatman Fin

Where To Find: Koi Pond

You can find the Water Boatman enemy at the Koi Pond, so make sure to take the right equipment for this water-filled area.

Weevil

Where To Find: Grasslands, Oak Hill, Eastern Flooded Zone, Hedge

Weevils drop multiple items, so it's good that they're present in many different zones so that you can find them easily.

Gnat

Where To Find: Grasslands, Oak Hill, Flooded Zone

Gnats are annoying in real life; however, they're even worse when they're the same size as you. Luckily though, Gnats are easy to defeat, so you can get raw gnat meat easily if you need food.

Worker Ant

Where To Find: Dry Grasslands, Oak Hill, Grasslands, Flower Bed, Anthills

Worker Ants aren't hostile like Soldier Ants, but they are annoying to deal with if there are many of them and you initiate combat. The best way to deal with Worker Ants is to only fight one at a time and don't start combat with them unless you need to.

Soldier Ant

Where To Find: Dry Grasslands, Anthills

Soldier Ants are more combat-oriented than Worker Ants, which means that you'll need to come equipped with powerful weapons and armor to defeat them.

Bombardier Beetle

Where To Find: Grasslands, Dry Grasslands

Beetles in Grounded aren't a large threat, but you do need to know where to find them if you want to farm their items. You can get Bombardier Parts and Boiling Glands by defeating a Bombardier Beetle, and they only appear in the Grasslands and the Dry Grasslands.

Diving Bell Spider

Diving Bell Spiders are tricky to fight compared to other spiders since they live in the water, but you shouldn't have a major problem with them as long as you have powerful equipment to use in wet terrain.

Wolf Spider

Wolf Spiders aren't an enemy that you should be fighting unless you've crafted multiple powerful weapons and have a sturdy set of armor to go along with it. Fighting Wolf Spiders is hard work; they move quickly and deal a lot of damage. Avoid these enemies unless you need the items that they drop.

Spiderling

Spiderlings are small spiders that appear throughout many zones in Grounded. Although they're not nearly as much of a threat as Wolf Spiders, they drop Web Fiber which makes them a notable enemy. It's worth fighting these spiders if you come across them and have the proper weaponry.

Orb Weaver

Orb Weavers drop two useful items, so it's worth noting where you can find these enemies. However, all of the items that it carries can be acquired from other spider enemies as well.

Orb Weaver Jr

A weaker version of the Orb Weaver, defeating an Orb Weaver Jr is a great method for easily obtaining Web Fiber and Spider Chunks.

Aphid

Aphids aren't one of the most interesting enemies in Grounded, but they're a great source of food since they drop raw aphid meat when they're defeated.

Grub

Grubs are an easy-to-find method for obtaining meat in Grounded, and the fact that you get two other items when you defeat them only adds to why you should fight them whenever possible.

Ladybug

Ladybugs are beautiful creatures, and they're giant in Grounded. Ladybugs won't attack you for no reason, but you can fight them if you initiate combat first.

Bee

Unsurprisingly, Bees are commonly found in the Grasslands and the Flower Bed regions, so you can easily find them if you need Bee Fuzz or a Bee Stinger.

Firefly

Unlike most insects, Fireflies only appear at night, and you can only fight them in the Flower Bed and Flooded Zone regions. They drop multiple rare items, so you should fight them if you come across them while exploring.

Infected Weevil

Infected Weevils are unique-looking creatures that are easily recognizable. You can find them near the Haze Lab.

Infected Mite

The Infected Mite is an enemy found near Haze. You get Mite Fuzz and Fungal Growth for defeating them, so they're worth your time if you're exploring the area that they reside in.

Mosquito

Similar to the real-world, Mosquitos in Grounded are frustrating to deal with. Luckily though, they're large in Grounded, so it's easy to spot them and fight them. Mosquitos are located in the Flower Bed and Flooded Zone regions.

Larva

Although Larva aren't particularly rare, they aren't found in every area of the Backyard, so you'll most likely need to travel before finding them if you need the materials that they drop.

Lawn Mite

Lawn Mites only drop Mite Fuzz when they die, so they're not too important compared to other enemies. However, if you need Mite Fuzz, then they're a great source, especially considering the easy-to-access zones they reside in.

Water Flea

Water Fleas are only found in the Eastern Flooded Zone and at the Koi Pond, but they're not too difficult to locate once you're there.

Stinkbug

Stinkbugs are large creatures that can create a large cloud that damages everything inside of it. Be careful not to get too close to a Stinkbug if you decide to fight one. Instead, use a bow to damage it from a distance to avoid being damaged by it's gas.

Bosses

There's currently only one major boss themed around a bug or arthropod in Grounded; however, the developers will likely add more in the future.

Hedge Broodmother

​​​​​​​Where To Find: The Broodmother Lair, Near The Flingman Flying Disk

The Broodmother is a spider boss, and it's one of the strongest enemies in Grounded. You gain many useful components by defeating it, but you need to have very powerful equipment before attempting to fight it.
