Cyberpunk 2077 Goes Gold

CD Projekt Red have announced open-world action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 has finished development, and has gone gold.

The game was originally slated for an April release, later being delayed to September 17th. CD Projekt President Adam Kiciński would later insist that Cyberpunk 2077 would still meet its planned release date, despite the troubled times brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

Finally the game was delayed to November 19th (for Windows PC [via GOG, and Steam], PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X). CD Projekt Red Co-Founder Marcin Iwinski and Head of Studio Adam Badowski insisted in a joint-statement that the game was “finished both content and gameplay-wise,” with only bug-testing and balancing remaining.

The announcement of the game going gold will likely put to rest concerns of another delay. No announcement of a Day 1 patch was made at this time.

In earlier news, CD Projekt Red revealed the game is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This was due to fans complaining that game’s main story being too long.
