Destiny 2 Streamer ZkMushroom Uses Incredible PvP Cheese Spot

One of the things Bungie excels at is bringing new life to its shooter, Destiny 2, with every new Season – and that's thanks to a lot of sandbox changes, seasonal content, and rebalancing activities. Destiny 2 turned four years old yesterday, and with Season of the Lost, there are big changes coming to the game's PVP mode called Trials of Osiris. PVP and the Crucible have always been a sore spot for Bungie and some Destiny 2 players, so the company reworked Trials of Osiris several times throughout the game's history.

The Crucible in Destiny 2 is far from the perfect PVP experience in video games, but Bungie has always been very open to feedback from the community. The prime example of this is how Stasis was nerfed a couple of months ago, which was a long-requested change by Crucible players who didn't like how dominant it was. The balance of the Crucible is quite delicate, thus things like being frozen or slowed too often break it, but so do glitches like the one for Hawkmoon or lingering bugs.

Because of this, the new clip shared online by Destiny 2 player and content creator ZkMushroom, shows that there are still things in Bungie's shooter that need to be fixed. As a matter of fact, the YouTuber exploited the way a Crucible map by the name of The Dead Cliffs is built, meaning that a few character builds allow players to reach the top of a tree in an out-of-bounds area. This usually results in players getting a warning message and their characters dying after a few seconds, but this is not the case for this specific tree.

Warlocks using top tree Dawnblade and Titans using middle tree Striker can get there with Icarus Dash and Thundercrash, respectively, making for a great sniping spot. However, this is considered a reportable action with the "Map Exploit" option, so players are advised against using it. Still, ZkMushroom's video shows just how much about the game is still glitchy after years of fixes, but it's not unlikely that Bungie will take action now.

With Destiny 2's Season of the Lost missing its roadmap, for the time being, it's hard to picture exactly when Trials of Osiris will go live and if this glitch will be gone by then. If not, this can undermine Bungie's work on the cheating protection system implemented with Season 15, as this technically counts as cheating, but it doesn't require any third-party program or macro. As such, players should keep in mind that glitches like this one can still happen, so caution is advised.

Destiny 2 is available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
