Following the reveal of Aiden’s tragic backstory at the PC Gaming Show, Techland provided a brief Q&A for Dying Light 2 Stay Human on the Future Games Show. Side quests were touted as an important part of the world-building and a “lot of game activities” have been promised. Animation director Dawid Lubryka doesn’t want to spoil anything.
Lubryka also reaffirmed several things about the co-op experience as players can see the impact of their friends’ decisions. While the first game’s story wasn’t anything amazing, Techland is aiming for a “deep, thought-provoking experience” in the sequel. Depending on your choices, the consequences will shape the story differently. A nice touch is that depending on whether they’re on the roofs or the ground, NPCs will act differently.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is out on December 7th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Along with the base game, there will also be story DLC arriving in the months after launch. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
