The Make It Count DLC for Empire of Sin and the free Precincts update will release next week on 18th November. With a brand new mob boss to play as, a new Loan Shark racket, fixer gangster type, new weapons and more, this is by far the biggest content drop for the game since its launch last December.
This first paid expansion pack will be priced at £11.39 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Make It Count features Maxim Zelnick as the new mob boss, a fictionalised character based on Meyer “The Accountant” Lansky. Lansky was originally announced to feature in the game, but some kind of conflict forced Paradox to create a fictional alternative.
Zelnik comes with new combat abilities, talents and the ability to start cooking books with the new Loan Shark racket. In a fight, he can use “Bolster the Ranks” to call in two reinforcements, while the “Persuader” boss weapon is a submachine gun with a quick-talking rate of fire.
He also comes alongside a new ‘Fixers’ class of gangster, who bring a new loan sharking racket to the table and have uniquely long-ranged combat abilities. You’ll have to hire a Fixer in order to unlock the loan shark racket, but once you have one, you’ll also have the Blackmail ability over other characters and factions.
The DLC will feature a string of new missions telling the story of Zelnik and the Fixers.

The free update that will accompany it is the Precinct update, a significant quality of life change that will break your criminal empire into neighbourhoods that will be more integrated and streamlined. These will be controlled through a central building known as The Depot, which is a key point to try and capture.
There will also be new win conditions, so you can build your empire up to the Chi-Town Mogul win condition, or use The Buyout to overpower your rivals through excellent business management.
Lastly, it will include Modsters, the first step of releasing mod tools and support for Empire of Sin, which can be shared through Paradox Mods or Steam Workshop. Even more modding tools will be coming later on.
Both will be available from 18th November across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Empire of Sin launched last December, but immediately ran into trouble for some of its bugs, balance and game design choices – read about them in our Empire of Sin review. Developer Romero Games had to focus on releasing several game updates to patch out the most pressing issues through the start of 2021, while also making a number of quality of life changes.
