A new trailer for Far Cry 6 premiered during Gamescom's Opening Night Live and dived into the story of Ubisoft's next title.
Geoff Keighley previously announced that a world premiere trailer for Far Cry 6 would be making an appearance at Opening Night Live, before revealing it would detail the game's story.

The story trailer showed Anton Castillo in an interview, where it details his past and his relationship with Diego. It reveals that Castillo's plan revolves around a cure for cancer that can only be made on the islands of Yara. The story trailer also shows several scenes between Dani and Castillo, revealing that El Presidente thinks of them both as "lions".
We've already seen a fair bit of Far Cry 6's story in previous trailers for the game. You play as Dani Rojas, a former Yaran soldier who returns home and is forced to become a guerilla fighter to free Yara from the grips of El Presidente. The main villain of the story is Anton Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito, who is trying to control his son Diego and turn him into the same dictator that he is.
The last time we saw Far Cry 6, we got to see a cutscene showing Dani Rojas and other Yaran civilians trying to escape from the island on a boat, before being discovered by Anton Castillo. This footage showed that Diego wants to escape from his father and might not end up being the villain that he wants him to be.
