Far Cry 6 won’t feature a Map Editor Sadly but will have DLCs, Co-Op Mode and More

In an Ask Me Anything on Reddit, the developers of Far Cry 6 revealed some important information about Far Cry 6. Far Cry 6 recently received some gameplay as well. If you haven’t checked it out, you can watch it here.
Far Cry 6 is set to be released on October 7, 2021. I think we will definitely see more of this game at E3 2021 because Ubisoft is planning to host a Ubisoft Forward Event for E3.

Map Editor Removed from Far Cry 6

Someone asked them whether there will be a Map Editor or no they stated
“No, Arcade will not come back. Removing this mode from our plan was a difficult decision but allowed us to focus our efforts on the main campaign, transporting players into the heart of a modern-day guerrilla revolution. ”
While it is sad to see the Map Editor Mode go from Far Cry 6, I think this decision might turn out to be good if what Ubisoft stated is true because Far Cry should focus on its story and gameplay the most. While I did not enjoy Far Cry 5, I am still keeping an eye out for Far Cry 6, but with very low expectations, hopefully, they manage to surprise me with the campaign.

Co-op Mode is returning.

When Ubisoft was asked about a Co-op mode in Far Cry 6, they stated, “Yes, Far Cry 6 will come fully playable in co-op like FC5. Tell your friends; it’s a lot of Far Cry fun.” It is great to see the co-op mode returning. Hopefully, this time, they will feature Split Screen Couch Co-op as well because many games nowadays don’t. One of my favourite games of this year was It Takes Two, which could only be played in Co-op. You can check out my review for that here.

Far Cry 6 will feature DLCs just like most other Far Cry games.

When asked about DLCs and a roadmap, Ubisoft stated, “For sure & yes more on that later, and we are not going to keep you waiting for too long.” Now I do not really like the idea of DLCs (I might be the only one). I think that they should not have focused on DLCs they should have just put even more attention to the Story of Far Cry 6. However, I hope that these DLCs turn out to be at least decent, unlike Far Cry 5 DLCs if there’s anything like Blood Dragon, I might have to keep an eye out for the DLCs then.

Wingsuit and Jetpack will help a lot in Traversal

Ubisoft stated that there would be a Wingsuit in Far Cry 6 and Jetpack as well. They will help a lot in traversal too. They stated, “The Fuego backpack is awesome and lets you pull off some crazy stunts! It’s not a double jump, more a burst that lets you traverse the world differently, and at the same time, you leave a blazing trail of destruction behind you as your Fuego sets fire to everything around you as you go.”
Jetpack might just make the game way more fun. It’s one of the things I actually think is great about Far Cry 6; otherwise, the game just has not interested me that much for some reason. Hopefully, they manage to catch my interest at E3.

Wildlife will be an Important Part.

Wildlife has always been an Important Part of the Far Cry Series, so it is not really surprising, but it’s still a great thing to see. Ubisoft stated, “Wildlife has always been an important part of any Far Cry. In our case, wildlife can be hunted and used in your different trading to get what you want.”
I really hope they improve the AI of Animals because it really is not good at all in other Far Cry Games.

Better Weapon Handling System

Ubisoft stated that they had improved the handling system in Far Cry 6 “Whatever we can reuse that fits we do, and everything that needs redone go through a makeover, but we’ve changed a lot the weapon handling system and you will feel the difference.” said Alex from Ubisoft. I hope they improve the gunplay as well. It has nearly been the same for a while, and Gunplay is a really important part of games like Far Cry. If they improved the Weapon Handling System, I am pretty sure they might improve the Gunplay at this point as well

A lot of Choices in the Story of Far Cry 6

Players will have a lot of choices in the Story of Far Cry 6, which is a really nice thing to see. “Players will have a lot of choices when it comes to how they want to experience the overall story. The world is filled with interesting people and the stories they have to tell, who you speak to and in what order is up to each player allowing for a lot of different ways the experience plays out,” stated Ben from Ubisoft. I really hope your choices matter in the game’s story.
“You will be able to approach the story however you like, no matter where you are on the map, which will give you the freedom to explore Yara at your own pace. But we also ensured new ways that players will experience the larger narrative – the struggle between Dani and Libertad against Anton. This includes having moments with Anton and Diego where Dani isn’t actually there – so you can see Anton and Diego’s perspective of the revolution as if you were in the room right next to them,” Stated Nav from Ubisoft.
I liked what Nav said because freedom in games like Far Cry is really important, and these new ways sound very engaging. If this is all true, I might just get Far Cry 6 Day One even though I usually do not like Ubisoft Games. The perspective part sounds amazing. I think it can help them build the story to be the best since Far Cry 4 and 3

What do you think about all this information revealed about Far Cry 6 by Ubisoft? Please let us know in the comments below.
