Final Fantasy Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi Says Second Part Of Fantasian Is Almost Done

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi is busy wrapping up the second part of Fantasian with his studio, Mistwalker. In an update to Twitter, the game's producer and scenario writer stated that the second part "is almost done."

While Fantasian has attracted plenty of fans based on some of the names attached to it, like Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, it first made headlines for its striking art direction. Mistwalker's latest game places your party in a series of diorama worlds, and the studio even released a video detailing how those handmade environments came to life.

Fantasian originally came to Apple Arcade back in April of this year, launching the first half of the JRPG with 20-30 hours of gameplay. Now, soon after its first act, the second part is wrapping up and expected to be a similar length. As spotted by Touch Arcade, Sakaguchi posted the short update to Twitter. He hasn't said much after the update, aside from posting another screenshot from the upcoming release. Part two has always been anticipated to make 2021, so Sakaguchi's updates make it sound like work on the project is moving along as it should.

Fantasian's big finale may come as a bit of a bittersweet update, as composer Nobuo Uematsu mentioned earlier this year his work on the 60-piece soundtrack may be the last he intends to work on. In recent years, the beloved composer has unfortunately been dealing with undisclosed health issues, and has largely stepped back from working on series he's known for, like Final Fantasy.
