Fans of the older Fire Emblem games may be pleasantly surprised to see some love being shown for them in 2021. With Fire Emblem The Blazing Blade beingt the first experience many players have had with the now-massive Fire Emblem series, the unique pixel art cutscenes have likely remained memorable for several gamers. Despite being severely outdated compared to the beautiful art in the newest titles of the series, fans have regularly returned to modernize the magic of the older titles, with the creation of one artist being extrodrinarily accurate yet beautiful.
Fire Emblem certainly shows its age, as the original game was released in 1990. Due to the limitations of the SNES and Gameboy, some in-game art and many cutscenes were always pixel-styled. Some of the earliest Fire Emblem titles were built up purely of several pixels of different colors thrown onto the screen, making it hard to understand the world. Since then, the titles have graduated from pixel styles to beautiful anime art, and many Fire Emblem remakes are on the horizon.

Fans of the original Blazing Blade title may recognize the first appearance of the character Eliwood, as he approaches Lyn and the party with Ninian in his arms. By this point, the player is unaware of who these characters are, but with Eliwood's warm introduction he is appropriately labeled a kindhearted person. A talented fan and Redditor named Sukesharay recreated this wonderful moment in a very similar art style to Fire Emblem, doing an incredible job of emulating what a Blazing Blade remake would look like.
There is so much notable about this image, and the detail of the light shining in on the scene is only the beginning. With intricate touches, this artist recreated Eliwood's considerate demeanor, including his uniqely colored eyes and clothing. Ninian's intense clothing was accurately remade, too, and sparkles were appropriately added to the bottom of her dress, further signifying her importance. This art allows fans to further imagine how this scene may translate to a Switch re-release.
A large focus in Fire Emblem is romance options, and much of the community heavily supports the Eliwood and Ninian pairing, adding another heartwarming aspect to this scene's recreation. The accuracy of this scene is incredible due to the use of a perfect angle, helping it appear as though it was traced despite the brand new art style. While it will be hard to top this art that shows Nils and Lyn cheerfully approaching Eliwood, the Fire Emblem community is likely looking forward to more fan art like this.
A Fire Emblem remake is rumored to be in development.
