Rainbow Six Siege Officially Adds Leon From Resident Evil

Rainbow Six Siege and the Resident Evil franchise have become quite familiar with one another over the past year. The tactical shooter and iconic survival horror series have joined forces before, adding costumes referencing Resident Evil. Now, after announcing the next stage of the ongoing collaboration earlier this month, the iconic member of the 'Raccoon City Police Department' has seen his signature look added to the game.

Leon S. Kennedy has become one of the most recognizable faces of the Resident Evil franchise since his first appearance in Resident Evil 2 in 1998. His original appearance was given a fresh coat of paint via a full remake in 2019, and Resident Evil 4 has become one of the most popular entries in the franchise – with rumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake constantly making the rounds. Leon's look from Resident Evil 4 has become an iconic part of the franchise, and soon his classic outfit will be brought to another shooter.

In a recent update, Leon's look from Resident Evil 4 was added to Rainbow Six Siege as a skin for an already existing operator, Lion. The outfit notably does not include Leon's signature jacket, but retains the RCPD look everywhere else. The outfit comes with several weapon skins, including one to match the look of the survival horror's iconic knife, something that has become a staple of Resident Evil challenge runs. Lion's drone will also be receiving a unique skin as a part of the collaboration.

Rainbow Six Siege has seen plenty of crossovers, adding skins inspired by iconic characters over the almost six years since the game's release. The tactical shooter featured a collab with Rick and Morty earlier this year, adding costumes based on memorable jokes from the show like Pickle Rick via charms of Rick Sanchez and his pickle variant. Rainbow Six Siege has also starred in tie-ins with other titles as well, most recently with the popular mobile tower defense game Arknights.

Resident Evil has become arguably the most recognizable series in the horror genre and, as such, has seen no shortage of collaborations with different titles itself over the franchise's history. Popular multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight featured a Raccoon City Police Department map earlier this year to celebrate the iconic franchise's 25th anniversary, along with Chris and Claire Redfield as re-skins of the playable Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine. The crossover between Rainbow Six Siege and Resident Evil is just the most recent example of the rich history of Resident Evil extending to other games, and this will surely continue for years to come.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
