Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp delayed to Spring 2022

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp has been delayed. The 3D remake of the two classic turn-based strategy games will now release for Nintendo Switch sometime in Spring 2022, with Nintendo stating that it needs a little more spit and polish before it can ship.

Hello, troops! #AdvanceWars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was set to launch on 12/3, will now release for #NintendoSwitch in spring 2022. The game just needs a little more time for fine tuning. You’ll be battling with Andy & friends soon! Thanks for your patience. pic.twitter.com/dSi8VSsxTH

This is a full remake of both Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, taking the first two Game Boy Advance titles from the long-running series and remaking them in full 3D graphics. It was one of several nice surprises from Nintendo’s E3 2021 showcase.

In addition to recreating the campaigns of both Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, right down to the game-changing terrain and weather effects, and the unique abilities of Andy, Max, Sami and other COs, you’ll also have multiplayer. The game’s Versus Mode allows up to four players to battle across dozens of maps.

When you aren’t busy keeping the peace in one of the two campaign stories, flex your army-commanding chops in Versus Mode. Up to four players can battle on dozens of maps. Each player chooses a CO from either campaign and can strategically use their CO Powers to turn the tides of battle. Customize your combat with options like funds per allied base and fog of war.
