Genshin Impact: 9 Mistakes Players Make When Using Eula

Genshin Impact’s characters are so unique and each carries their own personality. The descendant from the tyrannical Lawrence clan, Eula, is no different. She finds herself in between people’s hate towards her and her clan's hatred towards the people of Mondstadt. However, Eula chooses to use her hatred to fuel her goals and improve herself.

Eula is a captain in the Knight of Favonius, and her clan considers her a traitor for joining them. However, people close to her like Amber and Sara support her actions and even find her personality humorous. When Using Eula, players should build her to deal burst damage, but what mistakes do players make that affect her damage ability?

9 Not leveling up her Normal attacks

Eula is a Cryo unit, so some players may disregard her Normal attacks in favor of her Cryo damage, or even play her as a support for Cryo application.

Cryo and Electro have easy access to Superconduct reaction, which lowers enemies’ Physical resistance. Her Elemental skill lowers enemies' resistance as well. This is perfect for Eula’s Normal attacks. In addition, her Normal attack multiplier is really high. In fact, it’s one of the highest multipliers in the game. Therefore, players should level up her Normal attacks to help her reach her full potentials.

8 Not using her Hold skill

Since Eula’s damage mostly comes from her Elemental burst, players often disregard her Elemental skill.

While Eula is not entirely reliant on her Elemental skill, it is crucial to utilize it. The skill can lower enemies’ Cryo and Physical resistance. It should be used before Eula unleashes her burst and devastates her opponents. Eula will also reset her Elemental skill cooldown when she uses Elemental burst, allowing the Reconnaissance captain to cast her skill one more time.

7 Not playing her with Physical build

Building Eula with a Cryo build would hurt her damage potential, especially her Elemental burst since the real damage dealer of her burst is the Lightfall Sword. Lightfall Sword deals Physical damage and it can easily reach over 100k damage.

Therefore, even with Eula's low skill-cooldown and the high Cryo multiplier, players should not build her on Cryo. Doing so will halt Eula from her Physical damage potential.

6 Not using the right combo

It’s easy for players to find themselves spamming Eula’s attacks since all of them can deal a satisfying amount of damage and she will finish the job eventually. However, some places need proper attack planning, especially in Spiral Abyss.

Before using Eula's Elemental burst, players should use her hold skill. After using her Elemental burst, the cooldown of her skill will reset. Use her tap skill immediately afterward. Then, players can spam Eula's Normal attack to maximize the stacks she can get within the next seven seconds. Use her skill once it's available, And finally, Lightfall Sword will descend and deal a devastating amount of Physical damage.

5 Using the wrong artifacts

Since Eula’s damage is divided between Cryo and Physical damage, her artifact build can be a bit confusing. The player’s focus for the artifacts’ main stats should be Atk/Physical Dmg/Crit Rate or Crit Dmg. Her artifacts’ sub-stats focus should be Crit Rate, Crit Dmg, and Atk.

As for artifacts’ sets, 4-Pale Flame is the best-in-slot for Eula. Although, If players don’t want to rely on the 4-Pale Flame’s effect to proc, then they can build her with 2-Pale Flame + 2-Bloodstained Chivalry. It will boost her Physical damage by 50%.

4 Using the wrong weapon

To maximize Eula’s damage, players must find the best weapon to work with her kit. For example, a 4-star Claymore like Snow-Tombed Starsilver is great and the Claymore passive would work with Eula’s Cryo application. However, Blackcliff Slasher can out damage Snow-Tombed since its secondary stat is Crit Dmg%.

The best 5-star Claymore for Eula is The Unforged if she has a 100% uptime shield, as it will give her a big Atk% bonus. Without a shield, her best 5-star Claymores are Wolf’s Gravestone and Song of Broken Pines. As for 4-star, the best Claymores are Serpent Spine, Blackcliff, and Snow-Tombed Starsilver.

3 Not using the right team

Using the right team is essential for Eula’s kit. Teaming her up with a couple of damage dealers like Diluc and Xiao won’t be good for any of them, since the game mechanics are built around teamwork between the party members.

Eula’s energy regeneration is low, so she needs a battery to help get her burst back faster. She also needs an Electro unit like Beidou or Fischl to help trigger Superconduct reaction. Eula also needs a healer or shielder support. Diona is great for both tasks. The Kätzlein is also an amazing battery for Eula and can trigger Cryo resonance with the Vengeance Queen.

2 Using the wrong reactions

Melt and Vaporize are so famous between the players to the point that any Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo unit is immediately linked to those two reactions. Eula’s skills are heavily focused on Physical damage, so building her to deal Melt is an unwanted effort that can be easily outdone by her own skills and easier reactions.

Superconduct is Eula’s best reaction, she can heavily count on it to boost all her skills. Freeze is another good reaction that can give her good crowd control while fighting. The frozen enemies are still considered affected by Cryo and can get hit by Electro to trigger Superconduct reaction. Additionally, Shatter will naturally trigger when Eula lands her Normal attacks on frozen enemies, allowing her to deal more damage.

1 Using her Charged attack to fill Lightfall Sword

When the Lightfall Sword appears after Eula uses her Elemental burst, players need to keep hitting opponents to charge the Lightfall Sword to hit violently. Some players use her charge attack since it hits a fast sequence of attacks to fill it. This method is ineffective and does not add any stack to the Lightfall Sword.

Instead, only her Normal attacks, Elemental skills, and Elemental burst can add stacks to the Lightfall Sword. There’s a cooldown on the number of stacks the Lightfall Sword can have as well. This means hitting multiple opponents at the same time does not add stacks.
