Though this has not yet been announced officially by miHoYo, we’ve gotten some Genshin Impact news from a different trusted source on Twitter, Genshin Report. According to this account, Genshin Impact will be getting a new fishing mechanic, though we don’t have any details yet about what that will look like.

Additionally, according to Genshin Report, the 2.1 update will be adding the island Watsumi into the mix. One of their posts also shows an image of a new boss that will supposedly be coming to Genshin Impact with the update. The picture (featured below) isn’t the clearest, but the tweet reads, “New 2.1 boss spoiler. It’s La Signora. Yodel for her.”
What has been confirmed ny miHoYo though is that Aloy will be introduced into Genshin Impact coming up. Depending on which platform you’re playing on, you will have access to Aloy in update 2.1 or 2.2. Seeing as how Aloy comes from Sony’s wheelhouse, those logging into Genshin Impact with a PS4 or PS5 will receive Aloy via in-game mail after the 2.1 update. People logging in from every other platform will receive her via in-game mail after the 2.2 update.
We also know that miHoYo plans to implement all seven continents from Teyvat into the game over a span of four years. Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma are the continents that are currently playable, and Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya are the ones that are coming up. A developer disclosed that even though the concept for all these locations happened in early development, they had difficulties trying to figure out the art style for how the world should look.
For now, Inazuma is the new location, and people have been trying to access it through ice bridges. Players are supposed to have to reach Adventure Level 30 and complete the Archon Quest to get to the island, but not everyone wants to put in that kind of work. Unfortunately for them, miHoYo saw this coming and blocked players from taking advantage of that loophole.
